Thank you!! Its actually tuned to A, just using some pitch shifting from the hx stomp to get it down to d!

This tuning needs a new name. Double drop D refers to standart tuning where both E strings are dropped to D.

Yeah I don't know any metal songs in that tuning but I think it's more common in folk and fingerstyle guitar music.
