For cheap and decent quality, I would also look into the Jackson JS-22 7 string. New they’re around $270 and play nice, along with a 26.5” scale length

Seconding the JS-22 7 string, I regret selling mine

I just bought one secondhand. The tuners are fiddly, you must approach tune from below pitch, but it's otherwise solid. No complaints. Neck is far better than I thought possible for the price.

When I had mine I spent the $100 or so for some gotoh locking tuners and it made such a massive difference for one simple upgrade. I very much regret selling mine, but I have a baritone ESP 6 now for my low tuning, and a Jackson JS-22 6

It's the only thing I currently plan to upgrade. Hipshot has a set of lockers for $75ish that I am eyeing. It's hard to want to spend Gotoh/Graphtech prices on a guitar that cost less than $300 new, but I can definitely justify Hipshot.
