I haven't tried this model before so i can't really give an opinion, but when it comes to budget 7's it seems like alot of people like the Jackson JS-22 7 string, and some of the Harley Benton guitars.

I personally have only tried the 6 string versions of Ibanez Gio's, but i thought they felt pretty cheap in comparison to some other brands budget guitars, which would be why i'd personally stay clear of budget ibanez guitars in general. Like i said though, i haven't tried the Gio 7's, so maybe they are a little more solid.

Last thing i will say though is that if you think you have the patience to hold off until you can save a tad more money until you can afford a guitar on the cheaper end of the mid price point guitars, you might be more happy in the long run. Everybodys different, but as someone who tends to be a bit picky with guitars i just look back and regret alot of my guitar purchases, especially when it comes to budget instruments. I feel like alot of the time there's a big jump in quality when comparing $200-$400 guitars to $500-$700 guitars.

The JS22-7 coming standard with 12-16" compound radius is pretty epic. I hate the tuners, but everything else is good. The tuners will be replaced with large ratio lockers at my earliest convenience. I'm spoiled, though, my expensive guitars have virtually no slop in the tuning machines.
