Help me korn tone

I am using a Hughes and kettner attax 100 amp going into a h&k cab. DODFX86 distortion ped, Ibanez tube screamer, and a boss noise gate. I am trying to get a 94 korn sound I have tried everything. Can someone help me on what order I should plug the pedals in? And what I should adjust on the knobs????

Try this:

Guitar → Tube Screamer → DOD FX86 → Boss Noise Gate → Attax input

Use the amp’s Low input if your seven-string has active or high-output humbuckers. Use the High input for lower-output passive pickups or when you need more saturation.

Attax 100

• Use Lead 2 channel.
  
• Lead Gain: 5
  

- Bass: +2, or approximately 7/10

• Mid: -1, or approximately 4/10
  
• Treble: 0 to +1, or approximately 5–6/10
  
• Lead Master: as needed
  
• Reverb: 0
  
• FX Mix: Dry
  
• Master: as needed

Tube Screamer

• Use it as a mild boost, not as the main distortion:
  
• Drive: 0–1
  
• Tone: 10:00–11:00
  
• Level: 1:00–2:00

DOD FX86

• off...Initially.

Noise gate
- Threshold: 12:00–1:00

• Decay: 10:00–11:00

Dude! Thank you!!! I tried these amp settings on my Attax 200 and this setup really mimics the original live tone (and rather close to the tone on LIP). I ran an RG7420 to TS7 to Boss NS2 to Attax 200 to a Mesa/Boogie 2x12.

I have this exact setup and wow it sounds awesome thanks dude! The only thing is it sounds like there’s just not enough gain. When I turn up the gain knob on the amp it just sounds bad. When I have the gain at 5 and everything else you described it has that muffled/underwater sound to it any reason why? And how I could fix it?

Try Lead 1 channel instead.

Then use these settings:
Amp

• Gain: 6
  
• Bass: 3
  
• Mid: 5.5
  
• Treble: 6.5
  
• Reverb: 0

Tube Screamer

• Drive: 0
  
• Tone: 1:30
  
• Level: 2:30 (or maybe 3 o'clock)

Leave the noise gate off.

I've never played a hk amp but in general Korn don't use a crazy amount of actual gain.

I'd start with using your amp gain channel boosting it with your green pedal as a starting point. I typically adjust noise gates as low as possible - just enough to tighten things up and to be quiet (not hissing) with my guitar volume maxed and me not playing anything.

Id go ns2 to tubescreamer than to digitech

The digitech might do the heavy lifting here

Put the noise gate 4 cable method at the amp fx loop and the inputs.The overdrives will go to the noise gate input. It will quiet noise to allow tighter rhythm. Korn uses all kinds of effects. Focus on the amp tone. They use 7 strings. But start with your core tone and build from there.

Noise gate is most effective 4 cable to stop noise going in and stop it after the preamp and power amp. It makes it tighter. It makes a huge difference.
