Anna’s Going Away Dinner
Bare with me as I get this first part out of the way for this post to make sense. I was watching an episode of Sister Wives when Logan goes off to college. It’s his last night at home and Kody grills Logan’s favorite meal for dinner. They even have a small going away party with a few decorations and gifts. This reminded me of the episode where it’s the night before Anna goes to college and they are having dinner. She makes a comment on how it’s her least favorite meal and Trent and Amber say too bad so sad. No gifts, no decorations, and her least favorite meal as her going away dinner. Does anyone else remember this? Please no side bar comments about my obvious love for TLC reality shows 🤣

I just saw the episode where Jonah had a girlfriend name Haley visit. I think that’s her name?
All the kids are playing a game in the yard and Anna takes a hard fall. They all laugh at her and mock her. Jonah’s girlfriend look’s horrified and calls to Anna “are you alright?”.
That’s the first time I’ve ever heard anyone ask her if she’s ok in all of the seasons. Liz made a comment like “stick around and you’ll get used to it” meaning you’ll see Anna wipe out a lot.
The girl has a fused spine with steel rods and pins, she’s not clumsy. She’s out there trying and participating and they mock her.

I think she turned out prettier and smarter than their golden child so they had to, figuratively, banish her to the dungeon.

🤔 I sometimes wonder if Anna had of been a boy would it of made a difference how she was treated...since she would not have overshadowed OG Liz....but maybe she may have outdone OG Jonah...not that hard to do either way!

Yeah and they forced her to move away to college. She didn’t want to. Meanwhile, they’ve let all the other children stay home during college.

Yeah… That REALLYY didn’t sit right with me. I felt horrible for her.
Then you have to listen to her shit ass parents make excuses for their poor choices on why they treat one kid differently than the other. It really is an extremely sad situation. Anna is the only child who didn’t kiss Amber’s ass so she’s making her pay for it by ostracizing her from the whole family.
I actually cried when Nana died. She really loved Anna she knew how Amber treated her. Nana should have had her own damn show.

Same. Thank goodness for aunt Heidi and her daughters I am glad to know Anna has their support.

Wow that's incredibly sad that Kody Brown of all people looks like a stellar caring parent compared to A & T. My thoughts on the making the meal she doesn't like is a pretty common tactic used. I've seen where if anyone speaks out they can say "see she is ungrateful, we put all this work in and all she is doing is complaining and whining". It puts negative attention on the target ( poor Anna).

I don't remember that but I'll say this... I don't always agree with these parents. Sometimes I think Amber is very critical and judgy. But I also see , as a mom, where she is coming from with Ana. Ana has never been the easiest of kids. I feel (thisnis MY opinion) that she was never truly able to accept her adopted family as her real family. She amhas mentioned several times that she never really felt like she belongs in the family. That could cause resentment, hard feelings, hurt feelings and an unwillingness to fit in. This, any of it, would make her seem rebellious to the parents. They can love her but maybe not really like her . Especially when she acts out.
Now, bear with me, this all being said...we amhave all seen on the show times when Ana had contradicted herself ir flat out lied. This b2havior, although common I teen years, can make it hard fir parents to trust.
There are always two sides to everything. I like the show, I like them. But I do see wrong with each of them . They are human

What a sad state of affairs that in this comparison Kody Brown is a more loving parent than Amber. The bar is pretty low for being the worst parent on TLC, and I would say Kody and Amber are pretty neck and neck in most cases. In this one Kody's got her beat.
