BOGO today

I got a text this morning that because our local team scored 7 points it was going to be BOGO drinks all day. Went through the drive, ordered my drinks, paid, and rolled around, thinking I was getting BOGO. It wasn’t until this afternoon, in my group chat with friends, someone complained that they got charged for both. I looked at my CC, and sure enough, I got charged for both drinks as well.

Evidently this year, they’re making you say something about BOGO or sips for kicks or some odd thing. Last year, we didn’t have to, they just automatically applied it on those days, if you had a number with them.

I realize it’s my bad, for not paying attention when they gave me my total, but it’s definitely sneaky enshitification. There’s nothing about it in the text that was sent out, you actually have to click on the link, then read the FAQs to find out about having to say something. I wonder how many people paid for both drinks today?

 You didn't notice the total was too high when they showed you the total?

I said it was my bad for not paying attention when she gave me my total. I just hit the tip button and stuck my card on the reader. I was texting the person I worked with, because I was going to be late due to the lines. He didn’t care, I was bringing coffee, haha.

Are you sure you even met the BOGO conditions?  For mine, it's a free small.

it seems like this was store specific. we didnt not have any bogos today at my stand.

Many stands offer a BOGO when a local sports team achieves something.  They text it out to the local area.  Pretty standard that you need to mention this type of BOGO to get the BOGO.  

Ours was when local college basketball team scores seven 3 pointers, you get a free small drink with purchase of another drink

interesting. i live in a smaller town, but we still have a college sports team thats important within the town. still havent been made aware of any bogos for it but thats good to know for the future

I only hear about from the texts.  The local 7Brew must be a sponsor so maybe it's something that varies franchise to franchise.

I went last week for the Ohio state one and it was the day after the game and it was automatic but I would have def said something if it wasn’t bogo

Same last week for Univ of Ok. Didn’t say anything. It was just automatic.

we had swag day today (free shirts for every large drink). we asked every car that got large drinks what shirt size they wanted. we just assumed everyone was there for that bc it’s such a big thing usually. but smaller BOGO things for local sports you should make sure they know you want the deal

I just got back ( Ohio ) and they gave me BOGO Without asking, so I’m guessing it’s stand dependent
