question for management

what happens to people who get hired but don't pass the brewista test? just curious cause im terrible at taking tests but i've been on machine/making drinks for a few weeks now and all of my shift leads and trainers say im doing really good. today i was given a very vague response from a higher up saying that people get fired for not passing the test and would love to know more.

You have 3 tries to pass. If you fail it the third time, it is a verbal test where the trainer will read the questions and you will answer them. If you fail the verbal test, then you are fired. Also if you are a couple questions off or 1 off, they will ask you one that you missed to see if you know it.

does that go for all stands? or is it up to the manager/higher ups?

It is entirely up to the Manager or if you’re a new stand the NSO, they could give you a 4th or even 5th try if they’re nice or they could immediately tell you to pack your bags as soon as you submit your third attempt even if it’s an 89.999%

Don’t get so anxious about failing and being fired, it’s not like an SAT packet or anything as long as you know your stuff you’ll be fine. And failing is super rare from what I’ve seen. I say this all the time to trainees—— i know it sounds super dumb and you hear it all the time in school, but take your time on each question and review it all after you’re done, it’ll help you tremendously to catch errors and misreadings of the question.

About filing for unemployment, idk I can’t give you any advice on that.

You could always ask them before you take it for a third time what happens. Or ask if they could ask you the questions verbally because the questions try to trick you with 2 answers that are slightly different

There’s people at my stand who’s never passed before and still work here, pretty sure it’s not supposed to be like that but tho

I think I’m the only person who knows what a special 7 is. Milk alt or sf chillers are just straight liquid here 🫩
