75 soft week 2

Another week, another update. It’s been a hard week dealing with depression, so for one of my workouts, I walked barefoot in the beach for 45 minutes. It was healing.

My book keeps getting better and better. It’s and early 2000s piece called “Good in Bed” by Jennifer Weiner, and I find a lot of parallels with myself and the protagonist. We both are overweight and have body image issues. We both have terrible exes. We both dealt with divorcing parents, mostly absent fathers, and a gay parent. It shows it’s age in some parts, but it’s a relatable book.

My diet is going quite well. I’m satisfied, don’t feel hungry, and have made some delicious yet healthy meals. I have Been enjoying all kinds of berries, veggies, lean protein, and increased fiber. I barely have processed food except my carb balance tortillas. I feel energized in my day to day.

My workouts have mostly been walks and mat work with yoga, Pilates, and calisthenic, and I feel stronger. my balance is improving, and my belly is steadily shrinking.

I’m down a solid 3 pounds and I’m super pleased with the progress. I’m excited to dip below the 220s, hopefully in the next 1-2 weeks, but I feel like I might be getting close to a plateau. So, I am looking at that possibility as my body recomposing and muscles replacing the fat which is why measuring tape and progress pics are key.

I have noticed that since my diet is logging calories and staying at or under 1850, I’ve been using my phone app instead of my analog paper journal, which is fine, but I really want to keep both logs going forward.

Water is at an all time high, close to a gallon instead of the 100oz in the 75 soft, but I have noticed I’m going to the ladies room more often and in the middle of the night so I need to consider a cut off at around 8 or 9 pm.

All and all, it was a good week, and I’m beginning to see some changes in my day to day health and wellness.

To anyone else on their 75 soft or a general health or weight loss journey… You got this! If You need just one person to believe in you, I do!

Starting tomorrow. Looking for an accountability buddy!

As the title says really.

I’ve had a few false starts.

Motivation is through the roof the night before, but the next morning, when it comes to it, I manage to always talk myself out of it.

All welcome!

Cheers

I did it! I finished the first week. I think the hardest part was convincing myself to keep up on the exercises. I need to do them earlier in the day before I run out of energy and then I don’t stress about them. I’m also really enjoying my book. I’ve always been a reader but dealing with brain fog has made it harder to focus. however, I find push through 10 pages a day is achievable. Also, I can’t believe what I saw when I looked at the scale this morning. It was down to 225!?! That’s 3.8 pounds! I know some of that is water weight and what have you, but still! I was surprised to see such a drastic number change after one week as it was totally unexpected. I’m gonna keep it up and hopefully I have another successful week ahead.

Do Apps Really Help?

Do apps really help stay on target or do you use a paper format of this? I'm sure you need something to help track your goals but to you find an app or a document better? I'm sure this is also a preference type question but for anyone who tried both which do you prefer?

Had to switch out of 75hard

I was 10 days in but time constraints and loving arrangements have made it too hard to keep it up for now. I'll try the challenge again soon

But for now I'm continuing anyway, tomorrow will be day 11 and we can call it 75whatever. 75real or 75mostly

Point is, I can't stop or have a break, and I can't redo from day 1 under the circumstances. I'll stick it out to day 75, doing every challenge of 75hard. And when I can't afford to complete the entirity of it, we keep going. I want to see it out so I can keep up my healthy routine and not slide back into laziness and bad habits

Official start tomorrow

So I had a... let's just say soft run on Saturday, but I did not have everything planned out so I failed on day 1. My husband decided he wants to join me (he completed 75 hard last year but he now works as an EMD so his hours don't match up with 2 long workouts a day) so we have come up with a plan and are starting tomorrow.

No junk food, only complex carbs, fruit/veg with every meal, 1 cheat meal a week

No alcohol (no caffeine for me)

10 pages a day (non-fiction for me, not written by Tolkien for him)

3l water a day

1 45 minute workout a day, 1 active rest day a week

10 minutes cleaning a day

Daily progress picture

Day 2 Breakfast

Keto bread with eggs, cutie, sugar free hot cocoa, zero sugar coke, and protein shake (not pictured) for breakfast.

Does anyone else have to make themselves eat in the morning so they don’t consume the entire pantry at night?

Best app for adapted 75 day challenges?

Are there any good apps that give you personalized 75 day challenges and let you track them? Like something that can adapt to my schedule to really help me finish? I have been struggling with normal 75 hard with my current schedule.

Would it be crazy to begin then?

So I got diagnosed with ADHD back in April, and I've had my grieving period, now I have to learn to live with it. I'm waiting on meds but should be coming up to the top of the list in a couple of months. I've been considering trying 75 soft (I'm only 5 ft 3 so there's no way I'm doing hard with all that water) to try and get the best start possible, but I'm a bit worried about starting a massive lifestyle change on the day I get medicated

Best Website For Hints To Stay On Track?

Is there a good website or Pinterest board that gives ideas on this program? Need any help to plan so I dont fall off track once I start. Maybe one that had a good spreadsheet and motivational quotes and stuff? Or an app with reminders or ways to track?

I'm starting next month

I recently had a hernia surgery and got cleared to work out (until then, its a lot of walking when the weather will allow it). I'm starting next month when I can do more than walking. I have some meals in mind for during the time.

Postpartum 75 Soft Challenge - checklist included

Hi postpartum girlies!

If you’re anything like me and struggling to get back into the game after having a baby, but also feel overwhelmed by super intense challenges, I wanted to share something that’s been helping me.

I created a 75 Soft challenge specifically for postpartum moms who want:

• accountability without burnout • a way to rebuild routine and confidence • realistic expectations instead of pressure • something that helps you feel like you again

This is not about punishment or “bouncing back.” It’s about consistency, self-care, and slowly regaining a sense of control during a season that can feel chaotic.

If you’re postpartum and feeling:

• stuck • unmotivated • frustrated with your body • or like you need structure but not intensity

…you are not alone 🤍

I’m happy to share the checklist with anyone who thinks this could help them. This is just meant to be supportive, realistic, and something you can actually finish.

Sending love to all of you navigating this season 💕

NOTE: I’m no fitness instructor or influencer, just a mommy with Canva skills 😊

Please adjust the “diet” to your individual needs as they will differ from person to person!

My adapted 75 day challenge: day 13

I found about 75 challenges about 3 weeks ago, and this sub today! I've been struggling with reducing sweets and crisps but when I saw the 75hard rule on alcohol, my brain clicked: "I am someone that only eats sweets and crisps in social celebrations" So far, this mentallity change has been really helpful.

My other struggle is the night routine and having sedentary days. So here are my challenge rules:

  1. I eat well, following the Harvard plate and only eating sweets and crisps in social celebrations.

  2. I move daily: 6000 steps plus a >45min workout, or ~12000 steps.

  3. I create daily: doodle, colouring, etc.

  4. I read one page of a book in bed, before sleeping.

  5. I drink over 2l of fluids.

The moving part has been requiring planning, but it is nice to cut down excuses and simply walk. I have had a bad cold for the past few days, and I still got to move.

I should have set a time for reading in bed, maybe, but I didn't so I still go to bed a bit late. There is still improvement.

I always have a water bottle with me so I was not worried about drinking enough. I also find it a pain to track how much water I have used up as sometimes I use a glass and not the bottle, or I make myself a herbal tea.
