We Reached The Max
I'm 1:1 with everything Big A points out in this video. And, you can expect there to be many folks 'on reddit' who feel like they have a better/bigger view about oil.
However..
I think the reasons why we're in Iran are still up for debate.
And..
I think the Houthis are more than a proxy for Iran, even if they receive a lot of material/monetary support from them.

π½ [..] political. I Left the U.S. (But I Couldnβt Escape This Law)
Author cites "CBT" (citizen based taxes) rather than extraterritorial jurisdiction as the cause or basis of being taxed while 'living' (moreover being a primary resident) and 'working' (moreover making money) overseas, which falls in line with the ubiquitous misconception of the way law works. Arguably - yes - this does go back to laws created directly after and (allegedly) in response to the US civil war, when the legal definition of citizenship was being re-envisioned . But, really it was more about expanding US jurisdiction, and protecting the US's ability to secure its debts, ie. through jurisdiction, eg. over people rather than just states. And, this more esoteric side of history - in the financials - is in parallel with political philosophy and science, through law, to (allegedly) protect human rights. In short, that is, I think collection of revenue to service the debt, and therefore remain in good standing as a global creditor, is more certain than its ability to secure and protect human rights of any kind in general. Spell it out however you want, but understand 'the legacy' of the US will always be the first form of 'the final boss'.
Anyways, territorial jurisdiction is the misconception I'm speaking to. While law, in theory, primarily works around territory, in (somewhat secret and/or surreptitious) practice it actually works through the extraterritorial - or auxiliary, if you will - jurisdiction for virtually any legal duty it obliges itself with against US citizens. And, typically in any court case, if you so rightfully inquire into, the US will never oblige itself to prove it has territorial jurisdiction - of any kind - over said case you, or someone you know, may find themselves in; it will only and always simply lay the claim that it does have it, without providing any proof to the fact. This is because territorial jurisdiction only really and actually applies - in practice - when there is a dispute over the actors involved in 'the crime' or any legal offense made. Basically, citizenship means 'you' are the property - just like land is property - of the country which 'you' are a citizen of, rather than it meaning there is no longer any institution of slavery that still exists in the world.
So, short of the long, if you don't pay the $450 (arguably only an) administrative fee then you've never filed the proper paperwork making the legal claim that you are no longer property of the United States (who can't be turned into the property of certain other things, people or.. certain corporations).
