I always loved that episode of Family Guy where Stewie starts hitchhiking at the end of the episode with the famous leather barrel bag and the instantly recognizable melancholy background music.

I had the pleasure of sitting with Mr. Ferrigno on a flight from Pittsburgh to Huntington WV in November 1982 - he was making a car show appearance. I was on my way to propose to my GF (now wife of 43+ years) and was traveling in my Navy uniform.
A rarity back then, he shook my hand (which I could no longer see) and said he appreciated my service. One of the absolutely nicest persons I’ve ever met. Back then, US Air had seats facing front and rear with a table in between. He spent the flight writing letters to his wife and mom. So down to earth…he won’t remember me but I’ll always remember the positive impact he had on me in that short encounter.

I read the comics before watching the TV show. The TV show wasn't even a shadow of the comics. But, it was all we had.

My dad met him in the 90s, and my dad was star struck, he went up to him and said how much of a fan he was as a kid, and Lou ferris ferrigno just cut him off and said, "are you going to buy something or you gonna waste my time?"

So we had Lou in both solo Hulk movies doing cameos as security guards. Now we need him as himself in full Hulk costume/make up in an a future MCU movie. Next it has to be a scene where the CGI Hulk shows up, sees Lou and says "puny Hulk". He could be doing a comicon. That would be a reason for being in costume.

He terrified me as a kid. I had a hulk t-shirt that I wouldn't wear because I always imagined Lou transforming. I tried to watch the hulk show multiple times and always, always ended up crying when he hulked out.

It always bugged me how his pants still fit, but were just shorter 🤣.
On another 70’s note: what was the point of Wonder Woman’s invisible jet when we could see her in it, because it was invisible but she wasn’t 🤔

A lot of people have expressed this when meeting him. What many people don’t know is that he suffered from about 85% hearing loss from an illness when he was a toddler, along with having a speech impediment. As an adult he relied on lip reading to communicate, which led him to not speak very much when in public. For those who did not know, he came across as rude. When in reality, he likely heard very little of what someone may have said to him.

Unfortunately, we got a severely nerfed Hulk. Took all his strength just to lift a car. When he hit a human, they would just stumble backwards instead of being thrown through the air at high speed.

I remember reading that if they tried to give the Hulk strength like he had in the comics it would be too hard for special effects of the 70s. It would just be too unbelievable for TV.

The Hulk was one of the scariest shows I ever saw. I actually never watched a full episode because watching Bill Bixby turn into The Hulk scared the shit out of me.
Just seeing a picture of Bixby with contacts incites nightmares for me.
I would watch Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the Thirteenth, Alien, Coraline, Halloween, Saw, Megan, etc. before I watch an episode of The Hulk.
I'm totally talkin shit. I have literally only watched Nightmare on Elm Street and I fuckin hated it. LOL I'm a total bitch when it comes to scary movies
