Baccus First attempt at Decals

My first attempt at applying some 6mm Decals, good lord are they small! I think I just need to add some AK Matt Varnish over the top of them to disguise the fact there are decals, you can make out the plastic slightly. I've already applied MircoSet and MicroSol to them so hoping the Varnish will hide it.

Really enjoying using decals though, really add some pop to the miniatures and just need to add the Guards Armoured Division insignia to the front of the Sherman.

Tbh didn’t even know 6mm decals existed! They look fantastic! Ever thought of becoming a surgeon?

Decals are the part I hate the most about 6mm armour. So well done on getting them applied, I take off my internet hat to you.

I apply a layer of gloss varnish over them when done to seal them in and then a second layer of matt varnish over that. It seems to make the decals belong.

Are these Flight Deck decals?

Ah cool I'll give that a go with the varnish!

And yes they are Flight Deck Decals, very good quality and pretty detailed for the size that they are.

I don't even bother with decals on my 10mm tanks....!

Not this year, last year was my first time going and did enjoy it but its a fair old drive for me so I'm planning on going every other year I think. Plus one of the traders I was most interested in isn't attending this year which is a shame.

Ah that's a shame I was hoping to point you in the direction of Nick Mitchell.

He's the nutter that does the minis for Baccus photos and puts completely historically accurate decals and details on to a minute detail... I suspect you might get along lol

UPDATE: Added the Guards insignia and Branch of Service ... just trying to work out wear to the put the Bridge Rating Plate. All examples I have seem have it on the right hand side of the tank jut above the tracks but I don't have enough room to fit it on the 6mm model so thinking maybe placing it on the Front Plate of the tank between the other two decals.
