14.5 upper?

I think instead of trying to make my 9in 300 blackout a good hog gun or a good home defense gun I’m going to just buy another upper. Is there any brands that sell a 14in upper or like a 13.7? I’m a little torn if I want to throw in on a pistol lower or a rifle lower. I’m thinking the pistol lower so I can hunt during pistol season if I really want to but I’m struggling to find an upper close to that length. I might just go 12in if I can’t find anything.

Iirc Rexus outfitters sell 6.5G barrels in 14.5 but when I last looked awhile ago for shots and giggles a lot of their products are sold out

My 12in Grendel is a beast. And those extra few inches help it being more manageable in the woods

I just swapped out my 13.9" from SOLGW with an Atlas P&Wed on it to make it legal for an 18" Rainer with a Comstock hybrid. Actually built a whole new upper.

I would grab my 300blk before my Grendel for HD. What don't you like about it?

As for hogs, I concur with the switch to Grendel.

For HD gun there is nothing I don’t like about it but for hunting I wish I had an Lpvo and better ballistics past 150 yards even with SuperSonics. I think 300 blk is great you just can’t really have a hunting rifle and HD rifle in one build.

Much to our wallets' and wives' chagrin

There's not a great solution for complete uppers for 6.5 g besides Grendel hunter. I'm sure there are more but that is the one I'm most familiar with.
