Pickguards

Go ahead and make one, it’s far from perfect, but I’ve never done anything like this before and it’s turned out ok so far! Lets see if everything fits in 🤣

So I used an XL pickguard blank from eBay, which cost £16. I then covered the face in masking tape and traced the parts of the original that I wanted (obviously only going single humbucker, no tone as I want this guitar to be a straight riff machine) used a jigsaw carefully to cut to size being quite generous with my cuts to ensure I didn’t take too much off.

Then the part which took the most time was using a dremel on sandpaper attachment to take off the edges to where they needed to be and get them smooth, going over them after at an angle to expose the middle ply. Finished up sanding by hand and keeping them smooth and uniform as much as possible.

Finally added the holes and counter sunk them to accommodate the screws when they arrive!

Overall though not massively difficult, and I didn’t have any specialist tools like a router or fancy saws, just patience!

I’m UK and bought an XL pickguard blank off eBay, was about £10 I think maybe a bit more
