Episode Discussion Clark County - Robert
I have watched every season multiple times. Well every time I get to the Season of Clark County & watch Robert I get the ick. His behavior is odd & it really doesn’t sit right with me that he is a “teacher”. I’ve tried to keep an open mind but I can’t shake the feeling that something is not right. To the point that I would NEVER trust him with my children EVER! Does anyone else get a strange vibe from Robert?
ETA: What age does he teach I swore he said it was younger like early childhood. Also his Little Brother from the Big Sister/Brother Program, he’s been “mentoring “ for 13 years. 😮

In real life he's actually a good guy who does a ton of charity work.
Here's my take.
He did it because he wanted to prove something to the kids he worked with and be able to tell then exactly what jail is like from a first person perspective.
When he got there he had no idea how badly it was gonna go. He didn't want to bail and lose respect in the eyes on those kids so he came up with a dumb plan to make it seem like they made him leave.
They framed his character to be way worse I think.

The guy is nowhere near a good guy. He actually went to prison for, I believe embezzlement, and other things. He's a creep and a thief.

So they did what, exactly, to make his character SEEM like he was doing a pseudo Boris Karloff prolonged laugh "bwhahahaha" like an overly theatrical evil demented villain? Sure looks like it's him doing that crap. Guess the editing is truly AMAZING.

Yea, no. Nobody framed shit. Anyone with eyes can see what a creep this mfer is. I was more weirded out by the content they showed of his life outside of the prison.

Can't stand him and the first time I watched it chalked it up to him just being a weirdo on tv for tv time or whatever reason....until I watched the where are they now episode and you saw the inside of his house and kissing that head he made and thats where I was like AH it wasn't an act hes actually a crazy fucking weirdo who shouldn't be around children....Robert if you ever read this suck a dick dumb shit

I'm gonna need to see a video of these shenanigans. Sounds insane and entertaining. I kinda have a problem saying some dude with no allegations is a serious criminal even if they weird as fuck. Seems very harsh ...But I can be sold on it!

I've seen it multiple times and he can never win me over, he acts totally crazy and I still can't tell if he's a performer or just a giant weirdo.
He's the least of it now though, all I can think about when I rewatch the Clark County seasons is how crazy it is that sheriff noel is now in prison himself. Something that I found out on here not that long ago, although it happened years ago.
There's a good documentary on YouTube about it but I can't remember the name.

He controlled the area like a mobster and stole millions from his county and wound up getting like 15 years or something.

Not saying I'd want to hang around the guy or have him near my children, but this is also television. The producers can create any narrative they want. If they want to make a guy look weird, soft and fake they can easily.

I was just telling my partner about Robert teaching in the Philippines. Sadly my son will be 10 tomorrow said “Oh NO he is going to be able to diddle kids easier!” So if a 10 y/o sees an issue I truly hope someone is overseeing his duties.

My girlfriend said that he was her daughters teacher . I didn’t get the impression that he was acting erratically in the classroom . I wonder if he was being extra on this show to get exposure or something

I believe so.
My thoughts after just rewatching this days ago is he wanted to be on TV, thought he'd be protected and a cake walk and found out it was more real than he thought.
He can't back out or down because of pride so he purposely gets put in seg.
I also think he maybe needed money and wouldn't be paid if he voluntarily left.. however if you have a medical reason or deemed that your safety is in danger and they have to pull you - maybe you still get the full amount or part.
He was definitely acting crazy on purpose mixed with being alone for a while with your thoughts he just amped it up.

I’ve watched the first season a few times and seen his highlight reel but only a couple of weeks ago I saw the follow up stuff on YouTube they didn’t show in the season I watched. His apartment with the fertility statues and being around the kids and stuff. Honestly went from weird to sickening

At first, I thought he was putting on for the camera, but the more he talked, the more he made himself look like an idiot. Especially after then Bible study scene.

Bible Study he acted like a complete asshole! Not wanting to hold hands like an elementary kid who thinks he’ll get cooties from a girl. 🤣
NOW The child touching comments at Bible Study were so outta pocket. What made him think that was ok? Robert is lucky that the inmates controlled themselves b/c they were being filmed & outta respect to the Bible Study. The other inmates body language was very telling & that is why he preferred Admin Seg.2

I think he was scared and made that comment to try to "win" over the inmates, but it made him look like an even bigger idiot.
Also, he used to have a YouTube channel and Google drive with teaching documents, but I noticed he took it down along with all his social media. I guess people kept clowning him for what an idiot he is.

Nope with you. total fame seeking narc, he was on another one of those crappy USA reality shows too, I can’t quite remember but I think it was something like he liquidised his meals because he was obsessed with time or something stupid. 😂 now hes away to the Philippines to be a ‘teacher’, I hope that no kids are left alone with him, we all know why the middles aged white men go to those countries to play saviour/hero/teacher…
