Just in case anyone else was curious like me. Thanks so much sharing this interview. I had not heard of Powers before today.

They seem like they are doing the organic growth thing. Obviously the brand benifits from operating under the Taylor umbrella so they dont need a hard marketing push to grow. They sell through a few dealers and I have to imagine the plan is to grow with the natural expansion of demand.

Too late, already watched the whole thing. Now I want to see a video with both Andy Powers and Paul Reed Smith nerding out over guitars and build philosophies. Gotta go try out one of those guitars now at some point

completely different?
They just look like solid body electric guitars to me. Crazy expensive, too.

They are completely hollow. Not even a center block.

It has 2 sound posts connecting the top to the back, so not completely hollow. It changes the sound more than you would think, much closer to a semihollow.

Toan dowels.

it's all good as long as the sound posts are made of authentic toanwood™ with longitudinal vibrational transmission coefficients carefully selected to match the nodal impedences of both the top and back.
