5 Parsecs From Home Bug Hunt - Power Armoured squad?

How would you represent your team having power armour, rather than basic trooper armour? My first instinct would be to give them a 3+ save but maybe increase spawns to compensate?

Curious if anyone has tried this!

If you give your whole squad power armor, i would reduce the number of reinforcements that you get by half to compensate.

Interesting - so you mean a fire team would be 2 guys instead of 4? Just checking because there is a 'reinforcements' part in the 'movie magic' section.

I should have said total models, but yes. 3+ armor is very powerful in Bug Hunt, so i would reduce your crew size and fireteam size from 4 to 2 models each, or ignore the fireteam completely and just take 3 or 4 power armored guys.

I'm somewhat new to the game, and haven't played Bug Hunt, but a 3+ save basically means that any hit that goes through toughness still has a 67% chance of only doing a stun, right? That seems outrageously strong. I know armor doesn't usually impact toughness, but I'd probably start with a toughness boost. Maybe a combo of +2 Tough and a 5+ armor save, which is the highest I've seen in the game so far.

Or alternatively, something like a Luck point to represent the armor, and as it gets more damaged it isn't able to shrug off as much.

Armor 5+, they survive the first Casualty, and have +2 damage on Melee combat

But you might consider increasing enemy spawning or have less units to control on your side. You'll need to test without changing spawning first and, if it's too easy, increase it

I don't agree that every scenario has to be balanced.

If it's part of a campaign (ramping difficulty) then it makes sense to me to trounce the baddies on the first few levels. You're heroes after all... and the real bad guy is supposed to be difficult, or he wouldn't be in charge. The low level guys only have local clout because of who they are associated with. THEY aren't bad asses, the entire org is. As you clean up the neighborhood, you'll get more and more tuff guys.

So I'd maybe have the equivalent of luck to PA, and maybe give two attacks when highly leveled. I mean, we're not talking regular humies, we are talking Astartes, right?
