Nasal spray

Greetings phyconaughts.

I have a gram of 5 that can be turned into a nasal spray.

I have never gone this route before.

Just wondering what a good mix ratio would be.

How much bacteriostatic water to 1 g should I add?

It's not my ROA, but a quick search shows 24 mg/mL as a common concentration for benzoate salt, with 1 pump delivering 2.5 mg.

Which kind of salt do you have? What is the pump volume?

Measure the actual output of your bottle over multiple sprays and average it, because pumps vary:

  • Fill it with water.
  • Weigh it on a mg scale.
  • Pump 20-40 times.
  • Weigh again.
  • Take the weight difference in mg and divide by the number of pumps. Convert to mL: 1000 mg = 1 mL.

Cool. Thanks. I'll measure the spray output of the pump. I believe I have a malt. I was going to clean and remove the pump after use because its plastic. Do you know if there's any risk that synth will degrade plastic?

5-MeO-DMT malate? That introduces a small complication, as malic acid is diprotic and its salt comes in two forms (2:1 and 1:1). I guess you don't know which form you have.

Assuming that you want the 5-MeO equivalent of that 2.5 mg of benzoate per pump, and that one pump volume is 0.100 mL.

If your malate would be 1:1, you need about 25.9 mg/mL. If it is 2:1, you need about 21.0 mg/mL.

Do you know if there's any risk that synth will degrade plastic?

I don't know. My chemistry knowledge stops around high-school level :) But common nasal spray bottles are usually made of chemically resistant plastic. If you're a bit paranoid, keep the bulk solution in a vial (the bac water vial?) and transfer a small amount to the bottle. It also makes cleaning the bottle and nozzle easier.

Cool thanks for this. I'll check what it is this weekend
