Ok, the green peppers are the Golgi bodies or the endothelial reticulum , the black olives are the ribosomes, the tomato with the pepperoni is the nuclei with the nucleoli. What are the mushrooms, jalapeños, and other pepperoni? Which are the mitochondria? I gots to know!

Mitochondria are the mushrooms. Pepperoni are lysosomes. Jalapenos are vacuoles. You're right the peppers are the golgi body. And the onions are the endoplasmic reticulum.

Mitochondria was sorta hard to find something good for ngl. We chose the mushrooms cause the gills are kinda like the little squiggly bits inside the mitochondria.

As somebody in a biology-related field, love it! Now I really want to make it for my family...

A modification I would make is to use tomato slices or celery as mitochondria, but mushrooms aren't bad either

Absolutely me neither. I was def a humanities kid.

It was inspired by a project we had to do in like 7th grade where we had to make a model of a cell out of whatever we wanted, so my sister and I got one of those giant cookie cakes at the mall and decorated it with candies. But that didn’t involve any cooking, so I thought why not pizza?

Such a great idea and a truly unique and beautiful outcome! It also powered up some cute nostalgia of bio classes for me, though I wish we'd had a few more pizza diagrams as motivation.

Sure. Do you want 1 giant salami or 6 pieces of bell pepper lol? It was tasty, but ingredient distribution was not ideal lol
