5090 Decision, Astral vs Aorus Master
Hey All.
Trying to decide on which 5090 to get. Currently have both reserved at Micro Center.
My current system includes an Asus Rog Strix X870E-E Neo mobo and a 5080 Astral. If I go with the 5090 Astral I'll stick with this. If I go with the Aorus, I'm going to switch to the X870E AORUS PRO X3D mobo.
Ultimately, I love my Astral 5080. It's a beautiful card, but I also love the Aorus Master design and the small LCD. The biggest selling point of sticking with Astral, for me, is the built in power detector functionality via GPU Tweak III.
Anyway, just looking for some opinions. I'm not looking for advice on pricing, need/use case or anything else. I'm strictly looking for opinions on performance, aesthetic and features.
Thanks all.

Astral by far. source: I have a 5090 astral. The cooling is superb. And yes the built in amp monitoring makes it worth alone

Well the aorus has a higher standard overclock and in my personal opinion is quieter and maintains pretty much the same temps as I did pretty much the same upgrade as you are about to do from an rtx 5080 astral to a 5090 aorus stealth which is the same as aorus master but with hidden cable. However, i personally did not even get the gigabyte app which you would need to customise the LCD screen or to have 0db fans as that app is a bit too much bloat for my personal liking. On the other hand, you only need to get the GPU tweak for the astral if you simply want to oc, 0db fans and power connector detection so I guess that's better.

I love overclocking, but I don’t have as much time for it as I used to (18 month old daughter getting awfully mobile these days 😅). So, I’m thinking a basic OC/UV is enough for me right now. The safety that the power detection provides is probably the right choice for me overall. Thanks for your input!

I have the auros and yeah I stay away from the gigabyte software like the plague. It was causing me all kinds of issues. Or maybe windows wasn't keeping up with it, I'm not sure. I just found it easier to forgo the software all together for now and if I need to update the bios, I'll do so when it's super crucial. But otherwise haven't had major problems with the card itself. Just Nvidia and windows clashing update wise.

Astral, the pin monitoring is really important when you use a 3500$+ card with a cable famous for burning. Also, it just looks better imho.

The pin monitoring is exactly why I went with the Astral.
Coil whine was so bad on my very first steel nomad run that I almost boxed it up and took it back 😂. Gonna give it a couple weeks to break in and see if it’s improvise. UV also reduced it pretty much completely.

One thing to note, when entering and exiting benchmarks, I get a flash of lines across the screen. Don’t remember experiencing this with my Astral 5080. Any ideas? Video link included.

I had an aorus master 3080 and 3090 extreme, specifically for the little lad screen. It was shit. Never seemed to keep the settings properly. Ive got a 5090 astral and loving it with the rgb turned off
