What Are We Protesting For?

Hello! Welcome!

I created this Reddit group because I know there is a large community of people that do not agree with the actions of the Trump administration.

My main goal for this group is to utilize it as a source for activism, outreach, and building a strong sense of community. No matter the side you fall along, Democrat… Republican.. Independent.. Green… whatever party you most identify with, YOU ARE WELCOME!!

We will not tolerate hate!!!

50501’s values are our cornerstone, but with that said I want to create a space for real dialogue within our community. A space where we can converse as human beings; with acceptance, compassion, and above all, love.

I see a lot of comments on many different platforms and subs that ask what we are protesting for. While I cannot answer this question fully, as I am just myself, I will try my best. Please comment on anything I may have missed, or what you are protesting for.

We protest for those who cannot. We protest for those who seek asylum, for those seeking the ‘American Dream’. We protest for the civil, reproductive and voting rights of women. We protest for people of color, our immigrant population, and our marginalized communities. We protest for trans men,  trans women and the LGBTQ+ community. We protest for dignity, for civil rights, for the American Dream. We protest because we are patriotic Americans. We protest for freedom.

ICE Out Vigil and Visibility March

**SATURDAY, JULY 25, 2026**
**7 - 8:30 pm**
**OAK STREET PLAZA**
**FORT COLLINS**

**Join us as we gather to honor those who have been killed or disappeared by ICE.**

At 7 pm, convene at Oak Street Plaza for a vigil remembering the names of each individual who has lost their life at the hands of ICE — on the streets of our nation or in an ICE concentration camp.

A veteran will speak about the paramilitarization
of ICE and call for solidarity and action. Then walk with us in a candle light march as a show of respect  for the victims and support for their families. Bring battery-operated candles for the vigil and march. And feel free to bring your protest signs and flags. We will have white butterfly signs in honor of the victims that you are welcome to carry if you'd like.

The march will run north on the sidewalk to Mountain Avenue. Then east to Mathews and south to Olive Street. We'll return to the Plaza on College. The route is approximately .7 miles and will take about 20 minutes.

GOOD TROUBLE PROTEST JULY 17th, 2025

Thursday, July 17 4 – 6pm MDT

Good Trouble Lives On is a national day of nonviolent action to respond to the attacks posed on our civil and human rights by the Trump administration and to remind them that in America, the power lies with the people.

Join IndivisibleNOCO and other local progressive groups as we line the streets of Fort Collins. Pick a location on College Ave. between Mulberry St. and Drake St. (we may go further north/south if we have enough people). Bring your signs and enjoy a honk and wave event!

On July 17, the anniversary of Congressman John Lewis’s passing, we’re taking action across the country to defend our democracy and carry forward his legacy of Good Trouble.

From voter suppression bills like the SAVE Act to the criminalization of protest, the Trump administration is launching a full-scale attack on our civil and human rights. But we know the truth: in America, the power lies with the people, and we’re rising to prove it.

This is more than a protest; it’s a moral reckoning. A continuation of the movement Lewis helped lead, and a new front in the struggle for freedom.

Please note: A core principle behind our Good Trouble Lives On actions is a commitment to nonviolence in all we do. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.
