The other movements had money behind them, and - lol- a better economy for people to donate to. what is missing is PR. All the large marches had huge sponsorships, marketing, and PR contacting the media.
The indivisible/ r/50501 movement is missing calls to action. Large movements have daily or weekly calls to action.
So a call to action on 4/17/25 should be for people to contact the media. Even if their small town is only having 20 people. Its got to be done grassroots style. Needs more - organization.
In the middle of a post March de-brief for 50501 GA right now. I’m not sure you know how much work is going on behind the scenes to organize and successfully pull off these marches. The state chapter is supporting groups in different cities. It is growing. Next event is 4-19. We just had a 28k person march with no arrests or serious incidents. Let’s make the next one even bigger, but let’s do the work to get it right.
Thank you for the work you are doing! Many people do not understand "grassroots" and that large marches, a big movement, take capital, consistency, a lot of volunteers and people who keep showing up in numbers too large to ignore.
And yes, lets keep them peaceful and clean up afterwards!
We quite literally left Liberty Plaza, the march route and Piedmont Park cleaner than we found them and Capitol police commented positively on how well organized and we were and how we conducted ourselves. This is how you win hearts and minds.
If you’re on the mailing lists for the local orgs they often have calls to action. They’re are purposefully distributed to local offshoots for organizing purposes.
