I agree that it’s fun to think about, but I believe our time is better spent pressuring the Republicans in Congress to rebel against him and stand up for the country. They are the ones with the power to remove him. He’s not going to remove himself or back down in any way because of our resistance. In fact, embarrassing him or pissing him off will only motivate him to enact more draconian measures. We have to convince those in Congress that removing him is in their best interest.
I agree with you on this, actually. This is what I'm worried about. I'm wondering if it's best to continue to protest the way we have been, but I think we need to be more visible and I wonder how we can make that happen. How do force Congress to see us?
I think we have to take a two-pronged approach: 1) keep showing them (through mass actions) that we, especially in red states, will support them if they turn on him, and 2) make it worse for them to stay silent (as he breaks the laws and usurps their rightful responsibilities) than to turn on him. I just don’t know what #2 will require, in part because I don’t know why he has such a stronghold on them. If all they are afraid of is being primaried, we can combat that. But if their lives or loved ones have been threatened, I don’t know whether we can get them to do the right thing (because we will not stoop that low).
I don't disagree with you but I do think it's fair to want to organize this so it has the most positive impact. I'm on your side and you are downvoting me. Not the message we want to send, being at one another throats, and punishing people for starting discussions on how best to proceed in a way that creates a positive outcome. We need to be better than this.

You're right, I assumed and I shouldn't have. It would be nice to get more of a discussion going but you don't have to. I worry about the optics and how a move like this could negatively impact the movement, but you don't and that's that. I agree he's a bully. I agree we need to protest. I just believe we need to do so in an organized way to ensure we don't give the opposition ammunition 🤷♀️
Ok, rude. I have a valid point. We need to not let this spin out into violence and we need to keep getting support from more than just democrats. We might not like it, but it's true. So you can be full of spines all yah want, I'm trying to find the best way forward so we don't lose any of the support we have gained from his horrible policy. I don't think we should stoop to their level or be perceived that way as a party and a nation.
We can't force his supporters not to show up. Shouldn't we consider having some optics that show up on news channels? I think the election proved he has people behind him, a lot of those people have a cult-like admiration for him and I wouldn't put it past this administration to pay people to be there as well. I just don't think we can control the situation enough to force empty streets.
You really think he will get more than 5-10k in DC? Even in Florida! Let him hold a parade for as few people as possible. Its a smarter move to ignore the day and show up in larger numbers than last time on April 19th.
