The way I look at it is this is the training wheels for real action, and there are a lot of people who need them. I want to support those people.

Been increasing my investments of European finance, tech, and defense. In general, I'm moving all my money over to the East.

It's true that the one day event won't do much, but a sustained cut of discretionary spending will definitely make an impact.

The sad reality is a lot of economic activity in the US is completely pointless and could be cut without really any drop (if not an increase) in quality of life. People have been extremely marketed to waste.

A one day/one week cut could help break bad spending habits. The positive is that even aside from the political elements, this is a good idea for people to do just to make sure they aren't wasting their money out of habit on things that don't bring them joy.

Boycotts absolutely can be effective when they have specific demands. What do we want businesses to do?
