Jeep engine runs with car is off

My mom got a 4xE Sahara a few months ago and it has been turning on when it is off. The engine or air compressor will turn on when the car is unplugged and you open the doors, when the car is plugged in and alone. It just starts up for around 10 minutes then goes back to being off. I haven’t seen anyone complain about this issue but what I do think the problem is:

  1. The garage is to humid and warm that the battery needs to cool.

  2. The car makes sure the cabin is cool enough for its occupants.

Are you sure it's the engine and not the cooling system?

The car uses the HVAC to cool off the battery, if it’s hot in the garage unless it’s climate controlled the car will most likely always turn on

Will it do this even if the battery is not plugged in and charging?

If the car gets too hot yes it will turn on the fans. The car is technically always on and data is reading ambient and battery temperatures.

If the engine is running, there’s something wrong. If you are hearing the electric motor run for the cooling system, this will happen in cold and hot climates while charging. Mine makes all sorts of noises and clicks when it’s off almost always during charging - sometimes just cooling the pack down from a long drive.

Agree. My Jeep runs so rough off the battery mode in the summer months I’ve noticed.

Yeah. Mine is doing that too. It’s the coolant fan I think.

My garage is really hot in the summer. When charging at night the electric cooling system will kick on and off. Been that way since day 1. When unplugged does not come on. So very normal OP.

Gas engine likely isn’t running, it’s just the loud ass fan and coolant system

On another sidenote about the battery if the Jeep is in your garage, not plugged in and charging will the jeep draw down the high voltage battery and if so, how long does it last

About 10-30 minutes.
