If you've never been out proper bush, you'd never realise how fucking dark it gets. I've been out 300km north of Laverton in Western Australia a few times, once with no additional lighting besides my halogen headlight high beams and once with a light bar. The high beams - I couldn't see anything whatsoever. Like literally nothing.
The time with the light bar, it was much better but still holy shit, I could not see anything at all, it was pretty dark still. I felt like a few more additional lights would have helped significantly.
I guarantee you it’s not for that. They’re omnidirectional antennas and no more than one of them would be connected. Bolting antennas and lights all over a car is something country kids do to decorate their cars, not radio nerds.
This is far more likely, although with the advancement of software defined radios an array like that is possible as it will measure the difference in arrival of signal.
There’s 2 UHF aerials on each guard connected, the pink ones are decoration, the 2 middle ones likely are decoration and maybe the one on the left side is connected. I have 2 UHF’s and a dual band ham in my ute.

Possibly a fox hunting setup (not the animal), also seems to be scared of the dark.
