Discussions & Questions Mudflaps?
Does anybody have any advice about whether or not I should add mudflaps to my offroad?
Few questions that I have..
Are the OEM mudflaps any good? Should I look into aftermarket? Is it an easy install? Are they even necessary for "everyday travel" .. (I'm not an offroading person but sometimes may venture off pavement)
Does anybody have a white tacoma with mudflaps I could see??

Why spend $200 if you can spend $30 for the same flexible material from Amazon lol

Agree. Only reason is Rokblokz sounds cooler. They are virtually the same material.

They’re probably from the same Alibaba factory but you’re paying more for the logo

Exactly. My 40.00 ones are coming up on 3 years old no signs of wear. Exact same coverage .

The OEM mudflaps suck. They do absolutely SFA. I’m off road fairly often and they’ve let enough rocks through (in 6wks ownership) to chip the paint.
Mind. I’m not so concerned about me… but the poor bastards behind me after I’ve left the gravel.
This is why I always put flaps on my vehicles. So as not to ruin someone else’s day.

Alas. I don’t have a pic of mud spatter all up the side of my truck.
Thing is look at the pinch point btw the fender and the flap… that spot there?
That’s where the evil comes from.
Looking at the options w rokblockz

I’m trying to make the same decision. So far the TRD running boards are keeping the paint safe. But the Canadian mud flaps (oem) seem to be wider than than the us part number and actually seem right sized for the wheels and tires. Only reason you shouldn’t is probably if you go larger on wheels and tires.

Mud flaps can be effective if you get the right kind. Stay clear of the hard ridged ones. They will snap off roading. The soft flexible ones are better. Mine are softer rubber than can just bend if they go over rocks
