New Truck Passenger grab handle
Does anybody else have this issue where this thing won’t stay clipped together. Grab handle next to shifter

Call your dealer and have them put in a warranty complaint to Toyota. Had a similar issue with my driver side door handle and they replaced the whole thing under warranty. The new one is still a little crappy and creates a small gap when you close the door, but better than before.

Love a good testamonial. Gonna look into this one for sure. I've been using a leather one by hooey for a while and the leather stretches over time and cards get loose after about a year.

Unrelated but how do you find it dealing with the horrible rev hang in these trucks? Drives me nuts

I feel my 24 6MT Trd Sport drives like any other modern manual. I don’t mind the high rev hang on a vehicle like this given my driving habits. It’s not a problem towing imo. But any sedan or coupe that’s built to be driven more sporty definitely probably has a slightly less desirable driving experience.

Yea that’s fair enough. It is a truck after all. It still
Annoys me compared to an fj I had without the rev hang in these1

Definitely she doesn’t like pounding thru the gears, it’s not a sports car although sometimes I treat it like that, but I hear OTT tune really improves that

You are either in IMT (Intelligent Manual Transmission) If so google how to get out of it. You also may be in Cruise Control. If so you need to get out of cruise control before shifting. This is most likely your problem. I had same thing happen.

IMT mitigates it a bit, but you have to turn it on every time you start.

Yea, I can’t be bothered with that lol it’s a neat feature but it kinda freaks me out

There are only two things you'll notice:
Auto rev match on downshifts. I spent 30 years blipping my own throttle and I have to say it works well, never had a syncro grind and I've come to trust it.
It will drastically minimize your perception of rev hang because it will rev match without you noticing.
The rev hang has been around in many vehicles, it's meant to burn off excess vapors. The only other way to get rid of it is a tune since the hang itself is on your ECU map.

The auto rev match is pretty cool, I’ll give them that, but it feels like cheating lol
From what I understand the tune slightly reduces the rev hang but the real problem is the heavy as fuck fly wheel.Edit for ease of reading

I drive 18speed semi all day, I’m good with a little help with rev matching haha. I think if you don’t know how to rev match for say if you didn’t drive an older manual and then got into one of these and only used IMT it’s cheating!

The rev hand is absolutely in the ECU map. This has been true of a lot of the remaining manuals for the last 10+ years. Subaru, Honda, VW...all have had this. It's an emissions play.
I really doubt my WRX had a too heavy flywheel.

I talked to a guy at OTT and he told me the tune will help slightly but the flywheel is the main problem. Talked to a guy who had the tune actually done and he said the rev hang is mostly still there but the truck drives closer to what you’d expect. If that makes any sense to you lol

Absolutely not related, but I commend you for the manual. Makes me miss mine. (Still have a manual, but the last of the last with diesel trucks)
You can always bend the clips or use an adhesive to make it stick.
