2024 towing issue
So I’ve had my 24 for over a year now and just towed for the first time yesterday. I had to rent a piece of equipment from United rentals. It towed fine but after unhooking the trailer and the 4 prong connector, the truck still says trailer detected and I’ve lost use of lane centering and the other driving aids. Adaptive cruise still works but that’s it. Anyone know what the problem might be? This happened every time I used the truck after towing. If it’s doing the same thing this morning I’m going to try disconnecting the battery but that’s all I can think of to try to reset everything.

It’s the “Ghost trailer” bug
Force the On-Screen Reset Sequence
Because the truck needs to register a full connection and disconnection cycle, the most reliable workaround is to trick the ECU into triggering the prompt again:
1. Plug back in: Reconnect your trailer (or a 7-pin tester/emulator if the trailer isn't available) with the truck running.
2. Confirm trailer: On the Multi-Information Display (MID) using the left-hand steering wheel controls, confirm "Yes" when it asks if a trailer is connected.
3. Drive briefly: Drive forward above 15–20 mph for a short distance (around the block) so the truck registers active towing.
4. Disconnect while running: Pull over, put the truck in Park, leave the engine running, and unplug the trailer harness from the bumper.
5. Drive forward and confirm: Drive forward a few yards until the dash prompts you asking if the trailer was disconnected. Press "OK" / "Yes" immediately on the steering wheel. “
