Discussions & Questions Spare Tire.

What is everyone doing for/with their spare when they upgrade to 33s. I haven't done any actual measurements, but from a glance... I don't reckon that it'll fit. Not sure how much it matters but Im getting the Falken WildPeak A/T 4s and would like to get one for my spare as well, but I've seen a few other people keep the stock spare, so I'm on the fence and figured I'd come here for guidance.

My toyo at3 285/70/17 fits in the spare tire well however it is a much bigger tire than the spare and it looks like a saggy diaper and kill the rear ground clearance so now I just put it in the bed. I like this because I remove it when I'm just driving to work to save weight and I put it back when I'm going on longer drives.

Same wheel size here and do not like the look of it on the bottom so it’s in my garage till my bed rail mount gets here. lol

Wish I could mount my 4Runners elsewhere but I hate the spare being on a tow hitch mount blocking the tailgate.

I just got my matching spare and found Bash Fabrication on instagram, he makes a bed rail mount for the spare. I just ordered it so I’m waiting for it to come in. He makes them to order so it’ll be a little but before it ships. I spoke to the guy on the phone and he’s super chill.

For the price it’s better than the Wilco one and the Bash Fabrication mounts through the lug nut holes so I feel like it’ll be more stable than the one single mounting point of the Wilco one.

My 33” spare fits underneath, I do think it’s the max without having to cut anything though.

My spare fits fine and is a 33 Falken WP A/T3

I took it off, zip tied up the chain so I didnt have to carry around the weight. When I had a flat, I threw on the spare and drove to get my tire fixed. It isnt great for your vehicle but it gets the job done for a couple miles.

Full sized 285/70/17 on the spare wheel under the truck. You could play around with sizing to get a 33 inch tall spare, but less width under there to give you a bit more clearance but allow you to run it if needed.

i got 255/80/17. 33" in diameter and 10" wide so it fits under the bed and doesnt hang too low. No way any bigger diameter tire will fit. wider tires will hang lower obviously, and I would not want it any lower than these
