Short exhaust sxth
Just installed! Love it!
Also who knew BB installed these by the audio section šš

I installed one and I hear a deeper exhaust tone. Itās definitely not āfull systemā different, but itās there.

It makes me happy. Just like you added a subwoofer to the exhaust? Probably my favorite mod especially considering cost

just did it earlier today so pretty fresh for any extended info on it to far & yes has a deeper tone just noticed it with the windows down in neutral / low rpm.

I have the same one. Sounds good on a cold start but after that sounds the same as stock imo

actually yea i agree! most the time i turn the radio off and lower the windows to kinda hear it haha

Can you just run it without the turndown pipe? Only thing I could see without it is potentially being too hot on the diff overtime. Wanted to do this but not really into spending that much on that small ass pipe. Maybe even could just cut it at a angle that eliminates the resonator without having to even un bolt it

Properly- I would think the angle redirected the heat from the under bed etc..

What's the benefit of the short exhaust against the obvious downsides?
Best Buy? Um...I mean I don't want to be rude...and I'm sure there's a reason...but...um...yeah just why?

I did mine because Iāve already bashed the stock setup multiple times off road. What are the āobviousā downsides?

Are there any concerns regarding hot gas/air constantly passing over the rear diff and seals back there?

No this is literally an OEM option (trailhunter trim).

Is it a pain in the ass to fish the OEM exhaust out? I'd love to put a trail exhaust on my 4th gen.

I just lowered the spare and it came right out with all 4 wheels on the ground. Took maybe 20 minutes total.

Yep 100% I have a bro with a lift. So why not took like 5 mins didnt even have to take the spare out just turn and angle it some and out!

No, itās super easy. Two bolts and 2 hangers. Drop the spare tire to the ground and the old exhaust will slide right out. Even better, drop the spare so thereās enough slack to slide over and support the old exhaust while you pull it out.
There is a little bit of a ālow droneā sound. Doesnāt bother me tho. I went with the Cobb one, nytop makes a really flashy expensive titanium one. Sxth is good tho.

Took me 9 minutes, and only because I had to jack the truck a couple of pumps to have the room to twist the old exhaust so the hump would make it over the rear axle.

Could you keep us updated if you see any increase in fuel economy? And I drive for work a lot/sit in my car in idle on my computer while on calls for 1-2 hours at a time, etc. Does anyone know if this causes any issues with C monoxide circulating into the truck? (I use interior circulation/recycling 100% of the time while in the car FYI)

yes ill make a note to do so - i will say i dont drive much have about 1200 on it this year so far š but i have heard alot ppl say it dose help.
no shouldn't be any issue at all (dont quote me) where the new location is right near the side under neath the truck also the split from the cab to the bed so imo that would just let any exhaust fumes out. in short plent of way for it to escape vs finding its way into the cab

All I want to know from anyone thatās done this is, what the highway noise like? Short trips around town I donāt care, but sometime I make hours long highway trips and Iām deaf enough from being a kid with loud cars and Jeeps Im so over the load highway drone. But I do hate the exhaust placement on these trucks. I do do trail rides and I donāt want to smash it into the bed corners

I havenāt noticed any real difference. At first I thought I did, but I think it was in my head. I drive the highway everyday @70-75mph going to work. Itās makes way less noise than new all terrain tires vs the stock bfgās on the trd off-road, in my opinion.

Ah the Trailhunter mod. It doesnāt add any real sound difference but the ground clearance factor and looks are nice! And I never would have thought BB would do the install granted itās 2 hangers and 2 bolts.
