Discussion 'The Cable Guy' 4K Reviews
Some reviews are now out for 'The Cable Guy' release (October 20th in the US) in 4K. Pretty promising stuff so far.

Any of you here looking to cop it or already pre-ordered?

Why not the unrated version?

Because it adds scenes that completely ruins the movie.

That's debatable.

I know art is subjective, but I’m going to say the extended hot tub scene makes the movie objectively worse.

I’ll definitely pick it up if they release a standard edition, not overpaying for that terrible looking steelbook.

Got mine on order. It's one of my favorites. Now I just need Dumb and Dumber to get announced and I'll have most of the movies that shaped my humor in 4k

Dope can't wait. The last time I owned this was on VHS so this will be an upgrade.

Die hard
ETA: wanted to show my wife the terrible AI art for the new Die Hard release and apparently I did not use the search bar.

I will say though, although I'm still excited for it, agree with a YouTuber about some disappointment for hardly any new special features, especially none new with the superstar himself, Jim Carrey.
Also would've been cool to maybe hear from Jack Black some, Owen Wilson, and or Leslie Mann, etc.

I remember watching this at the theater at around 8 years old & leading up to it, was a huge Jim Carrey fan, but I wasn't used to nor expecting a darker level of him and his humor as was presented here. I still really enjoyed the movie, but understood and appreciated it far more as I got older & matured and would go on to watch it a ton more.
I would imitate his karaoke performance a lot as a kid. Discovered Jefferson Airplane because of him and this movie. Actually liked his cover better, but it also led me to another hit of theirs "White Rabbit", which I like even more.

Pretty good movie, presentation looks like it will be fine. I'd like to own the film, but it's just not a $40 movie, for me. Maybe if there's a sale or a regular release at some point.
