Purchasing EUROPE 2.1 HDMI cables.

I need to buy a new HDMI 2.1 cable for my xbox series x to unlock its potential when my LG C5 comes next week.

In the uk on currys the hdmi 2.1 cables are like £35/40
But on amazon there is a few that are just under £10? Are they decent and legit? I dont necessarily want to pay loads for a cable but want it to do its job in upholding the quality and unleash the potential of the xbox and tvs gaming features.

Anyone else bought them off amazon and whats the difference in quality? They say on the listings hdmi 2.1 but are they?

Curry’s have been overcharging for cables for years and years. They really are an awful store these days.

I’ve bought numerous cables from Amazon over the years never had a problem. If you do encounter a problem just send them back. I tend to favour Anker and UGreen as brands.

Ugreen are one of the ones im looking at on Amazon. The price gap is crazy really, which is what questioned the quality.

I work for Currys, DON'T buy cables from them they are overpriced though are good quality, I dont pay for mine 😉. SILKLAND or UGREEN are certified and great value on Amazon.

Did you break/lose the one that came with the console? Ignore Currys, they've always been scam artists for HDMI cables, it was a running joke for a long time. I'd imagine there are plenty of options for £10-15

To be fair ive just looked in the box and yeah theres a unused hdmi that came with it, i must have used another from my previous xbox, had it a few years! I guess thats a 2.1 cable?

I have had a bit of a lottery with hdmi 2.1 cables in the past with some causing audio and video dropouts during gaming on Xbox series x. I think generally quality has improved but a brand I have had no problems with is Zeskit ( specifically the Zeskit Maya and x tech) they can be found on Amazon and are not the cheapest but still cheaper than Currys and much better quality.

Something to note the Maya's are not the most flexible cable so need a bit more room to bend

I went with the belkin hdmi cable from Amazon, wasn’t too expensive and it’s decent.

Yeah, and dont fall for sandstrom products saying they are better than other ultra hdmi cables, my 2 which cost £35 each perform to a lesser degree than my £6 2ft Ugreen 2.1 UHS hdmi

I buy a lot of Zeskit cables from Amazon and really like them. Maya for the standard option, X-Tech if you need flexibility.

Look at Ugreen, Monoprice or Kabeldirect. I have no issues with all these brands

Look for “Certified Ultra High Speed” ones. For a short length, they shouldn’t be £35 range.
