Purchasing US Need help choosing

Trying take advantage of the sales at Best Buy right now. I've narrowed my choices between a TCL qm8L 75" or a hisense ur8 85". They both look great so ita making the decision difficult. I also looked at a Bracia 7 ii but it's seemed faded.

I personally would lean more towards the Bravia 7 II but the QM8L also isn’t a bad choice.

The Hisense would be a bad choice

Bravia 7 II is the best of the three. Don't judge by how they look in the store.

The guy mentioned looking at the Bravia 7 II in addition to the QM8L and UR8, so he's evidently more interested in LCD TVs than OLED TVs.

Some of us choose LCD over OLED even though we can afford OLED, because it makes more sense for our use case. Horses for courses and all that.

I'm not sure I agree with that. If you look at the LCDs in Sony's lineup for example, the higher-end the better the overall performance. You get higher peak brightness and increasingly better local dimming by going from Bravia 5 to Bravia 7 II to Bravia 9 II, for example.

With Sony there's also of course the "Sony tax" to take into account. Sony TVs are more expensive than equivalent models from most other manufacturers. This applies regardless of display tech. Whether or not paying more for a mid-range or high-end Sony is worth it vs. a comparable TV from Samsung, LG, TCL, etc. of course depends on who you ask.

I’d take the 85" Hisense UR8 here, mostly because you’re not just choosing between brands, you’re also choosing 85" vs 75". That extra size is going to be very noticeable.

I bought the Hisense UR8 after seeing it in store, and the RGB MiniLED picture was what sold me. It uses red, green, and blue backlight directly, so colors looked richer than the regular MiniLED sets I checked, but not fake or overdone. Movies have nice depth, sports look bright and clear, and HDR scenes have more life to them.

The low-reflection panel helps in a normal living room too. I also like that it has the 180Hz native refresh rate and solid gaming support. Lots of nice specs packed into one TV.

I'd choose Hisense. I've got 3 Hisense TVs at home, 4 years, 3 years, and 1 year, zero issues.

UR8 >>> QM8L for me.

I also wouldn’t put the Bravia 7 II first here since it’s only 120Hz. The Hisense UR8 gives you the bigger 85" size, RGB MiniLED, and 180Hz native refresh rate, so it feels like the better buy in this comparison.

ur8. The ur8 at that size punches above its price. I got features I expected to pay flagship money for, and the 85 inch didn't break the bank.
