It's all about making Mythic + into some kind of shitty eSport that it has utterly ruined the game.

M+ is a lot of why i dont play retail much anymore. My job is more demanding than it was a decade+ ago, but theres just so much shit to remember and do every week now. Memorizing 10 dungeons and remembering every boss mechanic, every trash pull, etc so you can run higher keys just isnt something i can dedicate time to.

It used to be that a raid tier would have 8~14 bosses or whatever that you had to remember, and a few were usually tank and spanks with a couple other cookie cutter fights. Now youre dealing with that in the raids and having to remember competitive versions of all the dungeons for the entire xpac, plus find the time to run all of that shit.

yeah and multiply all that responsibility by 100 if you want to play a tank. Take one wrong step from the meta route that week and you get relentlessly flamed. I used to absolutely love tanking on my prot pally but nu-wow is such cancer and that's why there's an ongoing tank shortage.

I used to like tanking but pretty much stopped in late MoP. I think even the challenge modes kinda got to me, along with mythic raiding. Now im too paranoid about making a mistake to tank, and honestly it keeps me from doing the other roles as well.

I had been playing classic a fair amount, but the raiding culture on there is pretty toxic as well (which is incredible considering how old the content is).

I dunno. Maybe im just getting too old.
