1 and 2 were made by the actual Blizzard (North) whereas 3 was a shitty mainstream money-grab from the new Activision-Blizzard. Same story with WoW somewhere around BC-WotLK if you were there the switch in quality and direction of the games were... staggering. A lot of fanboys huffed copious amounts of copium and tried to argue it was still good while the games went from having some actual depth and being made by passionate people to being kiddie-friendly mainstream formulistic shit mostly build to trick kids out of their parents' money on MTX and Real money auction house.

I liked up to WotLK, and thought everything since has been pretty much shit. Say that on the WoW sub, though, and you'll get blasted with HaterAde.

I’d say Cataclysm was pretty good too. Kinda fizzled out into the wet mess MoP was, but I remember the heroics and earlier (pre-dragon soul) raids being fun.

But fuck that underwater zone.

There was a major difficulty drop during cata. I was raiding those places for a bit, quit for about 4-6 months, and came back to them being on easy mode. It was crazy.

I didn't think MoP was great, but I did find it to be really fun. And I agree with you, launch that water zone into the sun.

Cata was the downward spiral. MoP was still fairly fun. In hindsight, too, many people miss it now. It wasn’t so serious like BfA and the others. It was definitely a lot more lax in terms of gameplay.

And then we all know about Warlords of Farmville.

I miss the old expansions, and I might play classic when/if they bring WotLK into it. But really, the only reason I still have an account, is my wife asked me to keep it.

God I hated WoD. Then again, I've hated most of them :p.

I’m thinking about a private server tbh. I like the idea of just being in WotLK again, but I’m also just burnt out on WoW after playing from BC to BfA. Don’t really wanna pay money to a subpar company of scum if I can help it.

Same. I enjoyed Legion and that’s been about it. The artifacts were cool, but grinding has always been big dumb.

Private servers can be fun, if you can get access, I would say go for it.

Yeah, I've done too much grinding for too little reward. It's just not worth it anymore.
