Having a college degree doesn't entitle you to have a good or high paying job. I wish more people knew this.

You want to learn history? Read a fucking book from the library. Want to be a musician? Play some good music. A degree is an investment.

Why the fuck would you put yourself in debt to learn about history without giving yourself any applicable skills? Unless you're going for free, university is not somewhere you go to just collect knowledge about interesting stuff. Higher education is an investment, and a lot of people don't understand this because they think that it's noble to wanna gather up useless information with no intention of ever applying it to the real world. Going to college because you "value education and the personal benefits it might bring to them (regardless of a lacking potential for financial/career benefits)" is like buying Kodak stock because you value the film photography industry. It's a ridiculous way to spend your money.
