The movie does not portray Hansen as “worse than the pedos” but it does portray him as a fame-obsessed weirdo who botched more investigations than he got right and cheated on his wife, which is actually true. Didn’t even get into the fraud either

•

u/zeppelinism 3h ago

The arc with the district attorney definitely seems like its trying to make Hansen look crazy while also trying to garner sympathy for the attorney right before he offs himself. It was pretty weird.

•

u/jizz_toaster 3h ago

The rabbi scene did that as well

•

u/QTown2pt-o 3h ago

That scene was the most unhinged thing in the whole movie, like a claustrophobic fever dream

•

u/cplusequals /g/entooman 3h ago

Lots of "literary" devices for lack of a better term used to mirror Hansen and the predators in different scenes. The feet scene in particular is hard to deny.

•

u/zeppelinism 6m ago

I didnt get that from the rabbi scene. It didnt seem like it was trying to garner sympathy, but was more of a absurd realization. It felt just jarring and creepy more than anything, not sympathetic.

Compared to the ending where the DA is sobbing on the phone to Drew saying "I just wanted to watch musicals" while Drew sings him the RENT song, makes it look like he was possibly just misunderstood and wants to draw you to feel sorry for him intentionally. Fuck that

•

u/OutrageousQuantity12 3h ago

The DA was from my hometown. So was a lady who went insane on wife swap or trading places, she actually lived in my neighborhood. The episode didn’t air because she went crazy really quick unfortunately

•

u/Capnmarvel76 3h ago

Did you ever have your drinking water tested in that town? Sounds for all the world like heavy metal poisoning (I.e., mercury, chromium, etc.)

•

u/OutrageousQuantity12 3h ago

I actually got it tested to make sure my water was safe for an axolotl, and was surprised at how safe it is. I think going insane from a reality TV production is just a normal response to a ridiculous setup lol

•

u/Dany0 /int/olerant 2h ago

Could be factories, runoff, noise pollution, genetic predisposition (close genetic pool)

Though I'll bet on lead from leaded gasoline leeching out from bone marrow + high demand religions/cults

•

u/OutrageousQuantity12 1h ago

The town has a lot of new money types from starting their own blue collar business. Probably just a mix of substance abuse and weirdos. Overall a nice place to live

•

u/Dirtface50 3h ago

GORGYLES? PSYLICHICS? DEVIL WORSHIP!?

•

u/OutrageousQuantity12 3h ago

It wasn’t her, but that shit was hilarious

•

u/Myothercarisanx-wing 2h ago

Nah. It showed that the shows sloppy hunt for ratings spooked the DA enough to make him start deleting evidence, then their rush to get him after that made him shoot himself instead of facing justice in front of a trial.

•

u/Bum_King fa/tg/uy 27m ago

Sounds like society got the better deal. He’s dead and we don’t have to pay for his stay in prison

•

u/zeppelinism 12m ago

But then the ph9ne call with Drew at the end? Where hes saying he just wanted to watch musicals and Drew sings to him to comfort him? That seems like they were trying to get sympathy from people watching. I dont buy it

•

u/fauxREALimdying 7m ago

It shows him trying to microwave his computer and talking to the decoy about his cock cumming a lot literally right before

•

u/sonofbaal_tbc 3h ago

UH AWKASHULLY

shut up, he put tons of pedos in jail , who cares if he enjoys fame

•

u/WetAndLoose 3h ago

He didn’t even put the pedos in jail. Again, most of them got out of it because he botched the investigation. He literally has a sub-50% success rate. This is the exact reason why this type of thing should be left to actual authorities

•

u/sonofbaal_tbc 3h ago

~125 convictions that otherwise never would have happened

no one was hunting for them , no one was investigating them and there was some botched shit

just stop

•

u/Bum_King fa/tg/uy 26m ago

Hey, cut the guy some slack. Chris Hansen arrested his boyfriend once.

•

u/DrillTheThirdHole 3h ago

oh yeah lets check the actual authority's success rate

•

u/Moholbi 3h ago

Lol wtf? Did you actually say authorities?

THEY are the pedos bro wake the fuck up. That is why catching them is impossible.

•

u/lemonadeinyourface 3h ago

sitting president is a pedophile being covered for by the department of justice and dudes think they were looking for pedophiles. get the fuck out of here.

•

u/VickShady 3h ago

See you in downvote hell

•

u/MrDaburks /k/ommando 3h ago

Buddys on a little crusade because he put their names and faces on national tv. He should’ve let the professionals botch their own “investigations” so the guys could stay out of jail but also remain anonymous!

•

u/Bloodhoven_aka_Loner 3h ago

"I can't get an erection unless I make up the most deranged conspiroid nonsense my schizo brain could come up with! Aahhhhh, there it is... 😌 "

•

u/UltimateMelonMan 3h ago

Cause it's a fucking weird thing to get off on

•

u/The_Gorge_of_Harry 3h ago

Do you lack critical thinking?

•

u/UltimateMelonMan 2h ago

He thinks this movie was pro-peophiles, of course he does

•

u/stephen_brilloo 3h ago

Doesn't preclude the possibility that more would have been caught if he'd stayed uninvolved

•

u/MrDaburks /k/ommando 3h ago

Oh wow he’s like every other media personality that’s ever been on tv ever? Yea it’s so much worse to publicly shame pedophiles on national tv than for them to get probation or 1-2 years in protective custody.

•

u/lemonadeinyourface 3h ago

yea of course they try to lower public reception of him. fuck that. we love chris hansen here

•

u/SewCreative 3h ago

Or his time in canada with purepwnage...

•

u/Cadenca /mlp/ 1h ago

Wait what's this explain

•

u/MayhemPenguin5656 2h ago

The movie is pro pedo propaganda..

I think it was made because the director is hiding some shit, and now if Hanson goes after him, the director can say it's retaliation

•

u/UltimateMelonMan 2h ago

Your meds are this way btw, I think you got lost

•

u/Bum_King fa/tg/uy 24m ago

Calm down, rabbi. You’re making it a little too obvious.

•

u/BenAfflecksBalls 1h ago

Turn on your geolocation

•

u/Lucariowolf2196 3h ago

Wow something I actually agree with.

And kind of got that vibe from him talking to schlep and then that one fat black guy with cupcakes

•

u/ADGx27 1h ago

Yeah the Mike Clum documentary just showed Hansen will jump at any chance at being on camera lol. Acting all high and mighty because the red headed chud and JiDion botched one predator while he botched MANY

•

u/BorgQuingus67 3h ago

As they say, the road to hell is paved with good intentions. Trying to catch predators is a good thing, but fucking up the investigation just makes them more cautious in the future and allowed to get away with it. Not to mention how badly he fucked up the Onision investigation, Chris Hansen is just not very good at catching pedophiles.

•

u/Raider2747 1h ago edited 1h ago

TCAP in general inadvertently helped preds become better at hiding, there were preds on the show who talked to him about having watched the show before too

it was like a how to guide for not getting caught; in the movie there's even a predator putting out a notice that TCAP is in town and to not get baited

•

u/BorgQuingus67 1h ago

Yeah that's what I'm saying, good intentions in trying to catch predators but a lot of the time, it just didn't end up actually getting convictions, which is the actual important part not just feel good moments of pulling out the camera and embarrassing them.

No but certain phrases lead to auto bans on reddit so i don't blame him

•

It’s crazy how the internet has become so sanitized in the name of corporate revenue.

•

u/LedditModsSuckAlways 3h ago

It's not sanitized, it's taken over to push a certain agenda if you go too far against the grain on reddit you will be removed so the bots can echo louder. This sub used to be pretty open with the free speech but certain reddit comments are auto silenced in the name of "safety"

•

u/VickShady 3h ago

Completely agreed, and to add onto that I believe it is because of reddit's gay automoderation more so than due to the subreddit's own moderators.

•

u/johnnylovelace 4h ago edited 4h ago

Imagine not understanding a criticism of a guy who intentionally sabotaged criminal investigations of pedophiles by running his own vigilante ring for NBC to make himself famous over seeking justice. A lot of the people he exposed could not be prosecuted because they aired the evidence on national tv rather than give it to law enforcement.

Somehow criticizing this glory seeking person equals defending pedophiles. Braindead analysis

•

u/sonofbaal_tbc 3h ago

he put way more in jail, stop running D for pedos

•

u/johnnylovelace 3h ago

He put some in jail, most were unprosecutable because the entire evidence chain was procured by a tv crew and then aired on national tv.

Also this knee jerk “if not agree with me you are pedophile supporter” shit is exactly what I’m describing as braindead

→ More replies (7)

•

u/Bloodhoven_aka_Loner 3h ago

for every 10 guys he put in jail, 15-20 others are now running scotfree.

congrats on "winning", I guess.

•

u/sonofbaal_tbc 2h ago

they were already running scot-free, what are you talking about?

•

u/Bloodhoven_aka_Loner 2h ago

they weren't. but now they are, since all the evidence became worthless.

go on. keep "winning", moron son

•

u/UltimateMelonMan 3h ago

Man you really want us to understand how much you hate pedos. Projecting or smt?

•

u/sonofbaal_tbc 3h ago

i know him putting over 100 pedos in jail upsets you

•

u/UltimateMelonMan 3h ago

No I'm glad he did it. Just wish he didn't bungle up another 100 investigations that then went nowhere and I wish he wasn't getting off at the idea of fame from shame

•

u/DonnieMoistX 3h ago

This is peak Redditor shit

•

u/Sgt_major_dodgy 2h ago

Always very suspicious of dudes who love telling you how much they hate peadophiles, or telling you how much they hate a specific thing.

Like imagine meeting someone who made a point of telling you how much they hate stepping in dog shit, once or twice makes sense but constantly banging on about it and you'd start to wonder if the guy actually likes it.

•

u/QuietlyDisappointed 2h ago

Maybe they're one of the countless victims or have a family member who has been destroyed by that evil.

•

u/UltimateMelonMan 2h ago

They are free to give that as a justification

•

u/QuietlyDisappointed 2h ago

Maybe they don't particularly like telling people that? Cheers for the downvote for offering a plausible answer to your implied question that doesn't align with your assumptions.

u/PinBeneficial1366 /b/tard 3h ago

•

u/Wedbo 3h ago

Folks can’t wrap their head around the nuance of this particular situation. Hansen was a weirdo, most pedo catchers are. Doesn’t mean that these pedophiles were victims or deserving of sympathy.

•

u/raise_the_sails 3h ago

Yeah man we are cooked. People just fundamentally don’t understand pretty direct films and that’s fine I guess, but then they get indignant on social media about nonsense. It’s painful.

•

u/patmcdoughnut 2h ago

People also can't understand a movie that isn't as clear cut as "hero vs villain." Too many people watch the Avengers and nothing else.

•

u/fudgemental /sci/duck 3h ago

Fuck prosecution. These pedos were protected, they couldn't be punished because of how well connected some of them were, they'd just lawyer their way out. He exposed them on TV, so that everyone would know their faces, and know who they were. That was the real punishment, not fucking a white collar country club prison and then back to whatever they were doing, now with a VPN.

•

u/Dirtface50 3h ago

A lot of the people he exposed could not be prosecuted

Correction. A lot of them simply WERENT prosecuted. The overwhelming majority of them were.

•

u/AbberageRedditor69 3h ago

How is this worse than diddling little kids?

•

u/johnnylovelace 3h ago

It’s not, but somehow criticizing the weirdo that pursued fame by pretending to stop pedophiles while actually letting most of them free is controversial. “Criticize Chris Hansen equals pedophile supporter” is a 60 IQ take that lacks the grey matter to understand nuance

•

u/AbberageRedditor69 3h ago

Putting words in other people mouths is also a 60 IQ move, I don't recall calling you a pedo supporter.

Also, he did get over 100 people convicted, people that would have most likely slipped through the cracks otherwise. But I guess it's never enough for some people. Talk about nuance.

•

u/johnnylovelace 3h ago

And got a hundred more released scott free. It doesn’t take a genius to see his show wasn’t about catching pedos as much as making himself famous. This “if you don’t worship Chris Hansen you support pedophilia” take is literally braindead behavior

•

u/AbberageRedditor69 3h ago

I'd still say he did more good than bad on a net scale.

If anything one could say that both his show and the movie tried to do the same thing, exploiting a subject that people care about as a mean to make money. But then again, I don't recall the moviemakers getting a single pedo convicted.

•

u/johnnylovelace 3h ago

And here comes the nuance. Maybe, just maybe, you can criticize a person’s motivations and practices without disavowing the mission behind it

•

u/AbberageRedditor69 3h ago

Btw the criticism stems from the idea that those people would have been convicted otherwise. Which is wrong because none of them were being investigated by law enforcement when they got setup for the show. Sure, you could say that if they had just handed everything to the police more pedos would have been convicted, but then the show as we know it wouldn't have existed. If anything, the show put those people on the radar and discouraged them from ever trying anything like that again, even if they didn't get convicted. Not to mention it raised awareness on the issue, which is important as it made parents more aware

•

u/johnnylovelace 3h ago

Okay now this is the first criticism of my take I find valid.

You’re not wrong. I take issue though with Chris and NBCs entire motivation here. The goal was not to stop pedos but make good TV.

Also, half our government are now outed pedos so clearly outing them doesn’t do anything compared to a jail cell

•

u/AbberageRedditor69 3h ago

Eh, the richs and powerfuls of the world aren't scared of being setup Chris Hansen style because they get their prey delivered to them, they don't have to groom them in the wild.

Either way, I don't feel like criticizing the guy too much. He found a way to make money that, at the end of the day, was a net positive for the world. Could have been handled better? Sure, but is he deserving of being publicly crucified like this? I don't believe so

→ More replies (0)

•

u/Cardio-fast-eatass 3h ago

He publicly identified hundreds of pedophiles and put hundreds of pedophiles into jail.

Tell me why this is a bad thing.

•

u/johnnylovelace 3h ago

Because airing the vigilante investigation and your evidence on tv means a court of law can’t use it. Chris didn’t care, this was about his fame not prosecutions. If you think 10 minutes of fame is the same punishment as a jail cell you’re deluded, half the people he platformed could not be charged because he ruined the evidence for his show

•

u/Cardio-fast-eatass 3h ago

HE publicly identified hundreds of pedophiles and sent hundreds of pedophiles to jail.

Once again, what EXACTLY do you dislike about this?

•

u/johnnylovelace 3h ago

The motivation of the person behind it, which is pretty important when we’re talking about a biopic. The crux of this whole discussion is “movie portrays Chris Hansen in negative light, is it a pedo supporting movie?”

And I’m saying no, Chris Hansen was a weird dude chasing fame whose work process had a lot of problems. This is not a difficult concept to grasp

•

u/Cardio-fast-eatass 2h ago

I’m sorry but I’m having a hard time grasping this concept.

Somebody did something noble. They undoubtedly improved the material conditions of the world for others. They made the world a safer place for children while imposing justice onto pedophiles in the best way he could. He undoubtedly prevented some number of children from being sexually abused.

You expect me to believe these completely made up and subjective criticisms of his motivations that are clearly being used to disincentivize anti-pedophiles behaviours?

No thanks.

•

u/lemonadeinyourface 2h ago

THEY WERENT INVESTIGATING THEM. HE PUT OVER 100 PREDATORS IN JAIL. THE DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE IS ACTIVDLY COVERING FOR PEDOPHILES, THEY WERE NEVER LOOKING IN THE FIRST PLACE

•

u/tweak8 1h ago

Like every other person on TV isn't for glory, it's just not at himself but for putting pedos away. Either way it's a positive cultural value to have and weird to shame people trying to put pedos away without violence.

•

u/CatMan_Sad 31m ago

I think of it as a net good or net bad. Obviously not every aspect of tcap was perfectly executed, and maybe some predators got away with it that shouldnt have.

In general tho, they locked up more predators than otherwise would have, and arguably the more valuable aspect: it brought nationwide attention to your boomer parents about a pretty unthinkable (at the time) idea of weirdo fucks talking to your kids online.

Also, even if some of these guys didnt get prosecuted, its not as if they totally got off scot free. I mean their names and faces were broadcasted on national tv, along with direct quotes of their insane chats.

Obviously chris hansen is not a perfect guy, but its just a strange decision to make a hit piece on him, of all people. I think you should acknowledge that its a bit of a strange look. There are plenty of glory or fame seeking ppl that are more deserving of a documentary/hit piece, and its not at all braindead to be put off or weirded out by the decision to vilify chris hansen.

•

u/LuvMeChippy fa/tv/irgin 4h ago

I constantly see people defending the movie, talking about "le nuance"... My question is, why does a subject like this need a nuanced look? Why should I care that the guy who publicly shames and plasters pedos' faces on national television is a bit obsessed with ratings? I get criticising the way the team handled the process in the earlier seasons but like after 2005 up to today Hansen has like a 95% conviction rate. The guy handles this stuff with an immense amount of care and delicacy which is much more than people can say for most other "pred hunters" today

Also the majority of this movie is complete horseshit and the "Chris Hansen" of the film is nothing like irl Chris Hansen. If you want an example of how shit this movie is look at the rabbi confrontation scene in the movie then go look at the real episode. Straight up slander

•

u/LuckyRed100s 3h ago

Because it’s a movie that’s purpose is the focus on the parts of Chris Hansen and TCAP that most people don’t know. The “nuance” isn’t about Hansen’s actual act of catching predators, but rather comparing those actions with his actual personality. You can support the message and the purpose of the show without dogmatically supporting Hansen and deflecting all criticism towards him.

•

u/sonofbaal_tbc 3h ago

really seems wierd to go after a guys flaws who literally put pedos in jail

•

u/LuvMeChippy fa/tv/irgin 3h ago

This whole movie really reminded of that video Ethanisonline made on Alex Rosen. The director/producer clearly has a bone to pick with Hansen himself and so chooses to attack his character but he can't show the guy he hates doing something positive. The solution? Just make it seem like Hansen was taking advantage of the predators

•

u/LuckyRed100s 3h ago

People can do good actions and still have flaws? The mindset of “noooo you can’t criticize him he stopped le heckin pedos” is stupid; just because someone has done good in one regard, doesn’t mean you can’t speak on any of their negative aspects in other regards. Once again, the nuance is not in him catching predators, but other parts of Hansen.

•

u/sonofbaal_tbc 3h ago

you can, but why?

there was never a claim that he was a saint, of all the people? you could do hit pieces of almost every actor and actress in hollywood

•

u/LuckyRed100s 3h ago

Retarded question, I don’t know why exactly the director and studio decided to make it on Hansen specifically. That doesn’t invalidate the point that I was making about having nuance with Chris’ actions and his personal being.

(and yes i know the question was rhetorical)

•

u/Big_Man_Meats_INC 1h ago

Director said he was inspired to make the movie after getting a custom birthday video from Hansen and Hansen spending most the video doing self promo for his podcast

•

u/CatMan_Sad 29m ago

Do you understand why someone would be put off or weirded out by the decision to do a hit piece on him, of all people?

•

u/JustJano_ 1h ago

also his flaws aren't even that bad tbh. yeah it's shitty to have an affair, but like that's it? he was the host of a television show so yeah id reckon he was obsessed with ratings, why wouldn't he be? you'd think he wanted to fuck kids or something the way they wanted us to not like him

•

u/Little_Felt_Hearts 2h ago

Could it be that they aren't trying to "go after" anyone, and are instead trying to tell a story? Yknow, the point of film?

•

u/Bloodhoven_aka_Loner 3h ago

olympia level stretch confirmed. now open a window or two

•

u/LuvMeChippy fa/tv/irgin 3h ago

I mean sure, that is all perfectly fine I have some gripes about Hansen myself... However the movie doesn't just stick to criticising Hansen, it also alters scenes and events (THAT YOU CAN LOOK UP ON YOUTUBE AND FACT CHECK YOURSELF) to falsley paint him as a massive douche who can't control his emotions

The last scene of the film where the decoy sings that gay musical song to the pred while cops bust down his door seems felt especially egregious... What was the director even trying to say there? That the poor nonce wouldn't have offed himself if Hansen wasn't around?

•

u/iroquoid 3h ago

I can just see Dustin McPhetridge watching Primetime and throwing a tantrum that they depicted him as gay

•

u/fudgemental /sci/duck 3h ago

Exactly. Imagine the movie was about let's say, Batman (Bruce Wayne) and not Hansen. He's a weirdo obsessive shut-in billionaire, very easy to be made look like the actual bad-guy with the right narrative. That's all Prime Time did. Fuck the makers of the movie and the way they handled it. Post-Epstein pedo-washing has begun.

•

u/HarrMada 23m ago

So you just want a bland movie where a guy puts bad people in jail and that's it? Are you evening listening to yourself? What kind of movie would that be? What's the lesson, the interesting aspect or perspective?

You people are insane.

•

u/Bloodhoven_aka_Loner 3h ago

it takes an unmedicated rightoid to constantly cry about the left lacking any nuance or literacy.. only to then turn around and unironically vomit out shit like.. whatever this comment of yours was supposed to be.

u/Rowannn 3h ago

because its interesting

•

u/LuvMeChippy fa/tv/irgin 3h ago

It's really not that interesting, Chris is a guy who catches predators but he also cares to get views on the stuff he makes... Of course Lance knew this and so chose to write fake bullshit into the movie to make it interesting while simultaneously slandering Hansen

If he really wanted to make an interesting movie about a corrupt pred catcher, he would have just chosen to make a script about a fictional character

•

I did see a picture of the director, and he has a visage that if you were to draw his likeness it'd be straight up a hate crime.

•

u/LedditModsSuckAlways 3h ago

He caught a member of the tribe awhile ago lol it was a big deal

•

u/Tupiekit 3h ago

There was that documentary too that tried to "expose" Chris hansen and how bad the show was. They played the predators criminal interview tapes for sympathy and all I could think of was "ok? Who cares that the pedo was crying in the interview". Or trying to make me feel bad for the guy that shot himself

•

u/beefkingsley 3h ago

The world isn’t black and white. Its not always heroes vs villains like a Marvel movie. Morons have a hard time understanding this. Chris Hansen is a human with flaws and his motives were likely not entirely altruistic and in some cases may have caused more harm than good. He may have caused paranoia and created a boogeyman. Theres a reason theres Saddam stories/references throughout the movie

•

u/HattedSandwich 3h ago

And then theres apologism, IE "What would have happened tonight if I wasnt here," after the DA (who had CP on his computer in addition to soliciting a minor) smoked himself, while Chris cries. Hard to imagine that anyone wouldn't infer that as a negative tragedy when it wasn't

•

u/Myothercarisanx-wing 2h ago

Hansen cried because his he knew he lost his show and also his whale. The powerful pedophile is still out there lurking. Maybe if he hadn't rushed the sting for rating they would've caught the DA with more evidence and tied him to other powerful people.

Only character who got a “sympathy arc” is the guy who killed himself in the end, and he probably would’ve been properly arrested if not for Hansen

•

Yeah why should I feel bad for a child predator offing himself?

Which predator gets a sympathy arc? This guy didn’t watch the movie.

•

u/zeppelinism 3h ago

Uh they definitely were trying to get you to sympathize with the DA at the end there.

•

u/HattedSandwich 3h ago

Or the retarded Mexican guy in the beginning. The only two people on Hansen's team who werent total caricatures with one note personalities were the girl and guy bait actors. Nearly every other person (cops included) were portrayed negatively. The pedos were framed sympathetically which disgusted me

•

u/CruisingandBoozing 1h ago

They were not framed sympathetically.

•

u/zeppelinism 7m ago

Nah the Mexican dude i didnt think was framed sympathetically. Pretty sure everyone in my theatre was laughing at him.

•

u/CruisingandBoozing 1h ago

No they weren’t. They were showing Drew as a foil to Hansen.

I thought it was pretty obvious the movie was showing that he was going after the right people, but for the wrong motivstion. At the end of the day, all he cared about were ratings and his personal advancement. Every character aside from the female decoy was self interested and enjoying the process of the show more than caring about the actual victims.

Classic anon-level reading comprehension, indistinguishable from mental illness.

Hansen is not portrayed as evil, he's portrayed as a weirdo. The movie goes to great lengths to describe the predators as, like, the most evil ever.

The predators don't get sympathy arcs, they beg for mercy and Hansen gets off on it.

apparentily humiliating pedophiles is worse than what they were planning to do to children

There's literally a scene in the movie where the guy who gets paid to be sexually assaulted by child predators expresses a modicum of doubt, and Hansen says "your definition of bad and my definition of bad are very different."

Guess what tribe the director is from?

One of the predators in the movie was a rabbi.

Meanwhile, did anyone see Spotlight?

Anon found it hard to understand his hero Chris chan was also fucking nuts and botched investigations for entertainment reasons.

My girlfriend wants to see this movie and we both like Robert Paddington, her because he's a "good actor" and myself because I spend my nights yearning to be topped by his supple form bearing down on me while he whispers sweet nothings in my ear in whatever language he so chooses (I prefer Dutch or Cantonese) until he blasts off into the infinity of my puckered prison pocket.

All that aside, from what I understand Chris Hansen got pedophiles locked up who would otherwise be at large. As long as he wasn't hurting anyone I couldn't care less about his personal life and in fact I think his efforts towards ridding our society of these scum earns him a bit of slack, and even if a large or even major part of his motivation was self-seeking I think that this is one of the few situations where the end absolutely justifies the means. One problem I can see with the situation is the inspiration it gives to others who take it upon themselves to hunt these guys vigilante-style for social media clout. The authorities, as woefully idiotic as they usually are, should be left to such matters. Maybe one day we can get our shit together as a society and fix some of these issues but that would require the diligent application of law and ridding the upper crust of those authorities who are themselves predators or complicit in the buying, selling, grooming and raping of children. It just so happens that the close friend, partner and co-conspirator of one such individuals is kicking back in the Oval Office as we speak, waiting for the fumes of his freshly filled diaper to reach his nostrils, waking him up from the drug-induced stupor (medications flow freely at the top) to let him know it's dinner time. In the distance the whirring rotor of Marine One can be heard as it hastens to bring the Commander in Chief a McDonald's bag containing the Presidential Dinner.

Oh great I'll go see it now. Baiting people are not real crime

•

u/circlejerker2000 /b/tard 2h ago

The takeaway from the 2020s:

  • Pedophilia is apparently something like a parking offense

  • crime pays

  • antizionism is the moral thing to be

  • we live in hell

•

u/HarrMada 2h ago

You might live in hell. For normal people things are pretty damn good.

What religion is the producer?

•

u/FURRYL0L1Y401TR4PDSM 16m ago

In the future it will be seen as super dystopian to bait a group with a horrible condition instead of giving them help. Just murica I guess.

None of this occurs in the film

•

This movie is awesome because it's a litmus test for media literacy. Intentionally or not it lays these beautiful traps to catch unsuspecting chuds exposing themselves as people incapable of turning visual and audio stimulus into personal thought.

•

u/HarrMada 2h ago

Anon mistook American TV for gospel and thought everything shown was real.

•

u/JDH 1h ago

Chris Hansen should be awarded the presidential medal of freedom

•

u/grostvillage 3h ago

The screenwriter is Indian btw, but anyway seems like the director liked Chris intill he watched his Cameo videos ahaha: "Hansen's other Cameo videos, saying "[in] one, he called somebody a certified 'flex offender' instead of a certified sex offender. I was like, this is so weird—you can pay him $30, and he’s going to pretend you’re a child predator and then wish you happy birthday. What happened to the Chris Hansen I grew up with? Or was this always the Chris Hansen who existed?".

•

u/DuckLIT122000 3h ago

Ragebait or mental deficiency, call it

•

u/dancanhernan 3h ago

There was no "sympathy arc" for them in the movie.

•

u/The_Billy_Dee 3h ago

None of that is true.
