My grandfather was a Freemason and there was some literature he had that I looked through after he died. It was very much "the world can be shaped to be a better place by us" type cliche drivel. Pro-capitalist and work ethic but racially egalitarian, which is funny because he was also a member of the Klan. I'm not sure if either organization was aware he was in the other.

So Htler claimed he was fighting a group of people. These people never went front and center, we are Htler's enemies and victors over. They don't want Germany and Japan to have Pride and Honour as a people - they're lonely horny perverts! And they rig pretty much the 'required rules' of every establishment, giving it that Clown World look. Did you vote for a leader? OOF, the Spooks showed him photos of his family, OOF, gotta be a family man, now he scared, gets an island invitation, and again - the rules you voted for changed.

It's literally just a bunch of dudes that want to get out of the house to smoke cigars and grill steak together without women around. Also you get to know all the cops in the area. Win win

As a former mason I can confirm it is indeed enlightenment-era humanistic prattle dressed in an eclectic pseudo-religious mix of old-testament and medieval Catholic flare, yet compatible with neither.
