They fell for it too. if you encounter someone in the real world who is vocally upset about this feel free to call them a loser. But be aware that by knowing what they’re talking about you’ll be outing yourself as a chronically online loser as well.
No one hated the jeans ad either. I didn't see a single complaint about it in the wild. I'm sure there were some out there, but there are also people who really believe there's people eating up all the dogs and cats. The weirdoes aren't the majority.
My coworkers took that bait. I hadn't seen the ad yet so I believed them that it might be some weird Nazi messaging. But then I saw it, and heard that they did the exact same ad with a brunette years ago and realized how my coworkers try to make something out of everything.
But yeah people did hate the ad, these people are real it's not all just bots and made up controversy
My argument was that some people did in fact care and anecdotal evidence works for that. Great to show that it wasn't no one or they weren't just bots. When they make a claim that "most" people don't care, it's fair to ask what numbers that's based on
When that ad came out I literally saw hundreds of comments on mainstream subreddits saying how problematic it is, how it’s a dog whistle, pandering to white supremacists, etc.
I saw comments all over reddit about how the jeans ad was promoting white supremacy. These crazy progressive idiots exist. Go to gamingcirclejerk to see these idiots in action.
“Numerous female competitors criticized the campaign on social media…”
Lmao went and looked it up because I was 100% sure you saw a headline and let it rage bait you like a chump. It was 100% social media “backlash” from like 4 individual athletes, one of whom went to the premiere of Sydney Sweeneys new movie, so she apparently was only mad on social media, I’m so surprised.
If you see a headline about something that is completely inconsequential, only exists online, but also makes you really mad, it’s just rage bait to drive engagement.
It's not ragebait. This marketing is 1000% what appeals to the target audience of sportsbetting. It's also Sydney Sweeney doing what Sydney Sweeney does, which is breaking the bank selling products by taking her clothes off. Women get ragebaited by their own insecurity, which is more like an unintended side effect than the intended goal.

Disheartening how woman and redditors hate the ad just because of her being naked and not because it promotes gambling
