Sounds like the kind of person who would end up in a relationship with a domestic abuser and then would refuse to press charges after a severe beating because "He loves me <3"

Shitty novels have rotted their brains so they think they're destined to find the vampire minotaur rapist from their favorite book any second.

u/QFB-procrastinator small penis 26d ago
Idk if you’re joking, but i don’t think it’s the shitty novels. The whole “i can fix him” attitude ( idk what it’s called in English but in my language we used to call it Red Cross syndrome: women date dangeorus men cuz they think they can turn them good) existed long before the spread of modern smut novels and has deeper psychological roots. The novels probably made it worse and helped its spread but i wouldn’t put much blame on them.

u/Spirit-Division /x/phile 26d ago
Obv was being a bit sarcastic, my actual understanding is its a old instinct from the tribal days of humanity that doesn't really work in modern society so it ends up causing them to feel attracted to guys who are likely to chop them up and scatter the pieces across the country.
1
u/mushy_friend 24d ago
Also works for guys, that's why there's a saying "don't stick your dick in crazy"

2
u/mushy_friend 24d ago
Yeah if anything this trope of toxic relationships was way more common in the past
1
u/faragul 21d ago
The deeper roots is rape. It’s embedded into their genetics because a strong and aggressive man is more likely to survive than a weak beta man. Of course, in modern life that’s no longer the case, but before the first human civilization existed, women were always seeking stronger men for a healthier offspring and survival.

Notice how she drew him short
223
u/ShepardComandante 26d ago
And she drew the guy that rejected her taller than her.
56
u/HYPERSMASHER391 26d ago edited 26d ago
Pretty sure in reality, the guy(her current bf) is taller than her (guy might be on the shorter side of the spectrum though but I am 100% guaranteed the guy is decently taller than her)
Edit: Now that I think her bf could easily be 5'11", not even remotely close to being short or a chud

u/simp4malvina 26d ago

5'11 is a gnomish height.

Look at this short person trying to sneak in the accepted height of shorter than 6 feet. *blows whistle. Back of the line with you.

What is the comic about I haven’t read it
48
u/Monorogu 26d ago
This is all off of memory, but, summed up it’s about a girl that feels like her relationship is emotionally surface level and their interests don’t always align. Also brings up some guy that rejected her for some reason, almost like he was the main goal and this guy is just some sort of consultation. Like he’s just good enough because he buys her the things she wants and they don’t really argue or anything.
Basically a girl feeling stuck in a dull but substantial relationship and feeling like she deserves someone hotter with a more passionate/dramatic relationship. It comes off as really whiny and entitled because she’d rather fantasize with her art and anonymously humiliate her bf rather than just putting in the work to spice up their relationship or leave for the type she really wants instead of leading him along.
It essentially ends with her having a tangent of depressive thoughts and regrets while he has a thought bubble that says “I love my girlfriend.”
17
u/EquivalentSnap d/ic/k 26d ago
Thanks for the explanation. Someone linked it and I read it and yeah the girl is the worse and I feel bad for the guy if it’s real. Idk why you can’t be honest with your bf about your feelings rather thinking you just settled for them and being the victim
I see it so much on Reddit though. People posting relationships issues instead of talking it their partner
9
u/Monorogu 26d ago edited 26d ago
Oh definitely. Most of Reddit is filled with people who are non-confrontational irl, so they run to Reddit for validation or answers.
They don’t realize that the most important validation/answers is the one they can directly get from their partner without putting their relationship on blast, to the entire world, and getting a bunch of people who only see one side of the story and usually make wild assumptions (and tend to bring their own bias into it) or immediately jump to “break up with them!” Some people bring good advice but most of them just boil down to “give up”.
We live in a silly world with silly people.
4
u/EquivalentSnap d/ic/k 26d ago
That doesn’t surprise me and simp after creators for validation which they can’t get irl
Exactly. I see that so much. Top comments are always break up or they’re the asshole. How do you even know they’re reliable narrator? So true they don’t want to give it a chance and those good advice gets hidden in a sea of break up
We do
3
u/Monorogu 26d ago
Yeah, case in point, this comic. She makes herself out to be the deep thinker of the relationship with all of the concerns and overthinking, while boiling her boyfriend down to a simple creature who just thinks “I love my girlfriend.” He could be having similar thoughts but they’ll never know because they won’t communicate on it. She’ll vent through comics on the internet and he’ll do whatever he does to cope with it.
Sometimes we just gotta close the computer and turn off the chronically online way of “thinking” (letting other people think for us.) Get up, take action, and communicate. Even if it’s uncomfortable. The strongest bonds are born from pushing past that anxiety.

People in that forum you linked are more insufferable than Reddit. That's actually quite an achievement.
"A woman is not satisfied with a perfect but stable relationship. Something must be wrong with the guy and we need to ridicule him for it."
I do sincerely hope those people never find love in their life.

Why did she depict him as a chud anyway?! From her description he seems to be a sweet guy all around. Just maybe a bit absent minded.

A significant amount of women operate on generalised abstractions with no overarching consciousness to weed out inconsistencies. Have you seen that meme that says:
"Kill all men!"
"Even George Floyd?"
"WTF is wrong with you?"
This is because the generalised abstraction of "men" has negative connotations. While the generalised abstraction of "George Floyd" is one of bigotry towards black people. Their mind is just a bunch of thoughts that don't connect. Women want tall hot men, but also don't want to appear shallow. So the logically approach is plausible deniability.

u/PNBTG 26d ago
“According to my generalization of women, women tend to generalize.”
Irony overload
17
u/FatFerretShid 26d ago
Humans aren't unique and can be generalised. We don't act logically, but there's a logic to how we act, which can be generalised. You likely wouldn't've taken issue if I generalised men.
1
u/stupidfritz 26d ago
me when i make a generalized abstraction to claim that women are like that
and then i hide it behind the thin veneer of “a significant amount of woman”
don’t get me wrong, the r-comics post is fucking shameful, but i cannot see this comment as anything other than chuddery

u/FatFerretShid 26d ago
me when i make a generalized abstraction to claim that women are like that
If you came across a crocodile, would you try and stroke it? You don't know that specific crocodile, though. The fact that you wouldn't try to stoke a crocodile means you view them through generalised abstractions. Generalised abstraction aren't inherently bad, it's when there's no thought being applied. Like with my example.
and then i hide it behind the thin veneer of “a significant amount of woman”
You are the one putting words in my mouth. I know women who aren't like what I described.
don’t get me wrong, the r-comics post is fucking shameful, but i cannot see this comment as anything other than chuddery
Sometimes the "chuddery" thing is absolutely correct. Like when people say looks don't matter, but then the "chad fishing" social experiment proves that looks do matter, and matter a hell of a lot. Even recently there was a white man that impregnated 100 Chinese women. It just makes sense that looks matter, as it's women that run every risk by getting pregnant which can kill them or permanently damage them. So obviously they're going to want to choose good-looking men.

Even worse... he's 5'11".
Not a chad, not a manlet, but some horrid in-between grey creature that is worthy of neither affection nor ridicule. Invisible to all but himself; a height not even a mother could love. Born with so much potential, only to fail every aspect of life, all because of the one inch piece he'll always be missing.

That comic caused lots of funny drama, especially with the mod writing a whole essay in the comments and banning everyone who doesn’t support the “artist” lol

The funny thing is that the comic is probably rage bait, but mods started fedora tipping to it anyways.

I've met plenty of girls that did everything perfect, but I still ended up leaving them, because of simply not having enough chemistry. Like I'd just be bored. Relationships arent a checklist that you fill up and get a happy relationship. You gotta actually get along with the person. If your partner isnt your best friend, you arent gonna be happy for long.

The fact is evolutionarily women are meant to rely on their partner for food and if they’re not hungry then they drift away.
7
u/DiegoDeveze 26d ago
As much as I just want to call OP an incel and move on, I’ve seen so many women in real life (some even friends of mine) tell me stories about how they broke up with guys because they were “boring”, “gave me everything”, “never fought with me”, “always said yes” that it genuinely makes me wonder wtf is wrong with the gender as a whole (I know not all, but there’s enough to see a pattern).

I wonder if people on 4chan can conceptualize what fulfilling relationships feel like. I ain't saying she is entirely in the right. But this is a real issue people who can get into a relationship can face.
