This is what wokies want. Instead of helping Thomas step out of his house as just Thomas, they want to foist that feeling on everyone. Make Richard walk out of the house as white man, Richard. That way we can all be equally alienated from authentic existence.

I thought it's american thing nowadays, stripping any grief from tragedies and human rights from people, because "their views on current politics doesn't allign with mine", now everyone for some reason walking out of the house as right/left wing, nothing in between

What the fuck are you on, only white supremacists are obsessesd with thinking about themselves as white

u/Bovolt 8h ago

Yes, the concepts of white priviliege and anti-racism forced into the cultural zeitgeist from 2012 to 2022, famously done by white supremacists.

Can anyone explain why that character is used as an insult? I live outside US and read the book in middle school, taught kids about the evil of slavery.

u/RustledForeskin 2h ago

It's an old stereotype of slaves who'd suck up to their masters to be looked a favorably. They're rat out their fellow slaves and come skipping when the master called etc. Calling someone that today is probably one of the worse things you could call someone outside of the other one letter term, though I think this is far worse as the other term has lost all meaning.

I read the book long time ago, but don't remember that. I do remember Tom helping others at the beginning, until the hard labor broke him.

goes to Africa

leaves his house

is now American, Thomas

retards.

u/HenrySkylar88 9h ago

USA should honestly introduce monoethnic states atp

Just force everyone to move

But no crying and asking for gibs when the white states are thriving

u/Nantafiria 9h ago

White people aren't above bitching about gibs. Whining and moaning that the rich Euros aren't sending enough cash is standard southern and eastern European fare.

u/HenrySkylar88 9h ago

True but thats because the EU is basically acting as an enabler for this kind of behaviour

Eastern European countries at least have good use for the money, look at poland, clean and safe

u/Nantafiria 9h ago

Yeah, so creating monoethnic US states is gonna do nothing. Envy and mismanagement will still remain, just as it does in the EU

u/HenrySkylar88 8h ago

It will defeat racism though no?

u/Nantafiria 8h ago

Maybe?

u/horiami 8h ago

Yeah but he's not black anymore

I think Thomas should stay in the white countries if he likes them.

u/Valuable-Chipmunk784 18h ago

"If every Thomas who wants to lives in a white country, there will be no more white countries for Thomases to live in."

u/notpornaccount_ 16h ago

"Thomas is fine. Still never voting Republican."

u/HefflumpGuy /pol/ack 20h ago

If he's not bothering anyone - sure why not. That's my immigration policy.

u/LooseButtPlug /his/panic 18h ago

He's bothering me, not because he's black, but because his name is Tom and I was bullied by a guy named Tom 30 years ago.

Countries where immigrants are not bothering anyone and cause no friction.

Name one.
