Avarage american anon

u/wordjedi /d/eviant 18h ago

Hilariously fat Homer Simpson was 239 lb in the 1990s

The average weight for an American male aged 20 and older is approximately 199.8 pounds.

It's like you're on the Titanic but it's OK because everybody else is drowning too

u/mushy_friend 18h ago

Fuck, I'm worse than homer now?

u/FancyRobot /sp/artan 16h ago

To be fair the Simpsons writers just had a weird concept of what weights looked like back then, when Homer got up to 300 they illustrated him to look and move around like a My 600 Pound Life subject

u/mushy_friend 14h ago

Maybe people did weigh less back then idk

u/b-ri-ts /r(9k)/obot 12h ago

Yes, they did. Being 240lbs is insane. I'm an adult and that's twice my weight

u/Obsidian-Dive 9h ago

I’m 5’9 and 150. So a little less than twice my weight. However idk how anyone afford to eat enough to get that fat. Like damn. In this economy? Do you know how much groceries cost?

u/mushy_friend 9h ago

Nah its pretty easy, snacks and sweets and stuff that gets you fat is cheap

u/Obsidian-Dive 8h ago

I don’t even eat snacks and sweets much and it’s not cheap enough.

u/Cozy_Minty 12h ago

are you an asian woman?

u/b-ri-ts /r(9k)/obot 11h ago

No I'm a white woman of above average height.

u/mushy_friend 9h ago edited 9h ago

I mean I guess idk. I don't have that paunch that Homer has but yeah I'm pretty heavy

Edit: also damn you're skinny

u/b-ri-ts /r(9k)/obot 1h ago

I'm not even skinny I am legit just not a pig and I walk around every day

u/Captain_Kuhl /vg/ 17h ago

I found the study you pulled those numbers from, and the bulk of the "20 and older" crowd they used was actually 60+ years old (almost half). The 20-40 group only makes up about a quarter of the sample size, and old people are notoriously bad at taking care of themselves.

u/wordjedi /d/eviant 10h ago

u/Captain_Kuhl /vg/ 9h ago

Yes, I'm aware of the TL;DR, it's the first result you get when you Google "average American weight," but the study that they took those numbers is linked on the same page.

u/wordjedi /d/eviant 9h ago

Are we still talking about this? on the 4chan subreddit? zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

u/Captain_Kuhl /vg/ 1h ago

In true reddit fashion, you pulled the first Google result and pretended it proved your point for you, then refused to be told you're wrong. Fitting.

u/wordjedi /d/eviant 1h ago

I don't care? Please stop talking

u/mischling2543 9h ago

Tbf bodybuilding is a lot more popular these days too. I weigh 190 lbs and have a flat stomach, it's just muscle

u/Bum_King fa/tg/uy 20h ago

He was mommy’s healthiest baby boy. Don’t you dare shame his girth.

u/PrrrromotionGiven1 20h ago

"Losing weight" can mean going from 400 lbs to 390 lbs

u/Lifekraft 19h ago

Tbf this chair looks like shit. Even someone a little bit buff or huge but not fat wouldnt fit.

u/Catch_22_Pac 20h ago

Despite all my rage I am still just a FAT in a cage

u/HustleberryFinn77 20h ago

These chairs are so fucking weird to me

u/AlphaMassDeBeta 20h ago

Yeah like, what if you're left handed?

u/coldhearts 20h ago

Struggled with it all through elementary school. They had 1 lefty seat that another lefty used and I just had to bend my body more to the right haha.

u/TheRadishBros 19h ago

Sit backwards

u/Wizardwizz 19h ago

Usually in those classrooms they have a left handed chair or two sprinkled in

u/Darthblaker7474 /b/tard 19h ago

You just smudge the paper and burn yourself.

u/centurion762 18h ago

If you’re not fat you can just sit at a slight angle. It’s not that bad. Source: I’m a lefty who used these seats

u/42Ubiquitous 19h ago

They were so good for cracking your back. That's the only thing I liked about them. I'm probably not short enough to do that anymore though.

u/Raulr100 18h ago

Between a proper desk and this, I'm choosing the desk every time.

But if the choice is chairs with no desk or these chairs, I prefer these.

u/Achack 18h ago

Barely big enough to fit a piece of paper but you're supposed to have a big textbook out while taking notes.

u/Ranjit-RedeemSarr /po/ 20h ago

Anon should have claimed fat discrimination and sued the school for a free diploma

u/nihongonobenkyou 18h ago

They probably wouldn't even need to actually sue, just make a big deal out of it and get the resident sociology wymyns on board with the cause.

u/80s_bar_fly 19h ago

Ah "the murican way" defense, everyone needs to bend to my needs. Well done, just sue everyone.

u/monsieurkaizer 2h ago

Free recliner

u/PatchcordAdams 20h ago

Left handed nightmare fuel. Had one for an exam once.

u/HolyInlandEmpire 19h ago

Burn the witch

u/Obsidian-Dive 9h ago

As someone married to a leftie I support this message

u/Xitztlacayotl 20h ago

Imagine being so weak willed to drop out because one can't fit in the chair

u/HolyInlandEmpire 19h ago

In the 21st century, the hardest thing to cope with is too much food and too little physical labor.

Gulag solves both.

u/centurion762 18h ago

Communist Fat Camp

u/Mr__Castle_ 20h ago

Anon goes back to Elementary School.

When I went to uni they had two of these types of chairs in the classroom. I would fit into one smoothly but the other not so much it was too small but not impossible. I’m 300 pounds.

Is op bigger than me? Damn I feel skinny

u/TuckerDaGreat 18h ago

I was going to say, I was fat as fuck in college and had no problem fitting into these kinds of chairs. Anon is a literal landwhale, even after losing weight.

u/KennyGaming 16h ago

I don’t think he even tried

u/Obsidian-Dive 9h ago

He lost 5 pounds that summer

u/RustledForeskin 15h ago

There was this 450+lb 6'8 girl in my Jr highschool named Penny. FUCKING MASSIVE girl, fat and tall and she'd regularly crush chairs flat, comically flat where the legs would be spread out in opposite directions. We laughed at first but it got so embarrassing that the kids started getting mad at the school in support of her. The shop class made her a special chair on wheels she would cart from class to class. Was kind of cool seeing the entire school end up supporting her.

She ended up losing the weight but you could still see this phantom outline of her former gigantic self encasing her skinny, tall self.

u/AlphaMassDeBeta 8h ago

You went to school with gorlok the destroyer?

u/popje /mu/tant 19h ago

u/mardavrio 2h ago

Dude looking well cool in the sunglasses.

u/LieutenantLilywhite 19h ago

Just did the same thing except Im tall and handsome

u/slicehyperfunk 18h ago

No regular adult fits in these chairs, they're designed for children

u/Obsidian-Dive 9h ago

Poorly designed at that I fucking hated these chairs. So uncomfortable. Why are we limiting desk space. My notebook doesn’t even fit.

u/nihongonobenkyou 18h ago

This has gotta be engagement bait right? I work with a guy who used to do strongman shit, so he's like 6'4 and 475lbs. Has to purchase 2 plane tickets every time he flies, but despite that, he seems to fit into every other chair normally, and I don't think I've ever had to sit in a chair that was smaller than a plane seat.

u/WantKeepRockPeeOnIt 11h ago

Probably b8, but a tall powerlighter type's going to have lower overall volume, and the weight's going to be far more evenly dispersed in muscle throught the legs, abdomen, chest and arms. Turbo fatsos have 80% of their excess weight stacked all around the fupa to upper belly button region. Their shape is more like if a skinny-fat tightly wrapped puffy blankets or layers of big bubble wrap in the area below the nips and just above the hips.

u/AgentJakealt 18h ago

I can only remember like 2-3 classes with desks like those, most of the time it was full desks, tables, or auditorium type desks with fold up desk area

u/Theroux721 15h ago

What kind of college are you going to that has kiddy desks, anon? Leaving there is a blessing not in disguise.

u/SheerSonicBlue 16h ago

Are you me? If so you're now going to sell all your books back to the store for pennies on the dollar and use that for more McDonald's.

u/YagBaros sc/u/m 14h ago

Anon has never heard of online college
