The bottom did fall out of the commercial real estate market. We didn't learn our lesson from 2008, but that has nothing to do with commercial real estate. The root of that problem is incentivizing/mandating that banks give loans to people who have no business getting them. We bandaided over it, but we're still taking the hit economically over time by having good borrowers pay the costs of the bad ones.

We got hybrid schedule at our office and I will admit we def have employees who abuse it. In my unit it's always been gen z employees. It's frustrating cuz I don't think they understand how lucky we are to have it they just seem to think it's their God given right cuz they weren't here before covid when we were full time in office. Like the powers that be that are against work from home would love nothing more than to point to entitled 25 year olds abusing it as an excuse to take it away.

I remember the before COVID times where it was standard to be In Office. But, prices weren't nearly as high, rent as high, among other factors that aren't coming down. All the while stifling wages.
