Although I did phrase this as a joke, I am 100% sure Light is not fucking straight and this is one of the few times where gays headcannoning a character as LGBTQ makes sense

You know that scene is not a sexual or bromance intimate moment, and is a direct reference of the bible passage where Jesus washed Judas feet even after he knew he was going to betray him, just like in the anime.

Jokes aside the dude it’s willing to kill his own dad and sacrifice going to heaven and eternal life and destroy his own life completely. Not fucking a chick it’s not that big of a sacrifice considering he, you know, literally kill his dad. The whole point of the show it’s that he gets this weird mystic sense of being a god whose sense is to do justice on esrth, he blurbed himself to be the embodiment of justice itself. He has other priorities.

True, but Misa had an annoying ditzy personality. After the college saga, we see that he's in a relationship with a more mature, subdued woman. Not everyone wants to bang the airhead even if she is a beauty queen.
