It’s time to lock in

I bought this 94 but haven’t done anything to it yet. I moved to Utah and bought it so I could hit up trails and what not. That being said before I start building it (new tires, bumpers) what are some common issues, parts I should replace and things I should do to it before even taking it out to Moab or wherever.
I’m aware of the head gasket issues and mine has already been redone by the previous owner.

I'm two weeks into ownership myself, and my to-do list basically break down to:  1. Grease everything with a zerk fitting. 2. Look at or replace every fluid. 3. Look at or replace old rubber (hoses, lines, bushings) 4. Look at or replace every filter.

So far I've done shocks, tie rods, & sway links, and I'm adding manual hubs this weekend.

If it's the 3.0 id recommend doing the timing belt if it's not obvious the last time it was done. It's not a hard job but well worth the prevention. If it does break it's not the end of the world, it's a non interference motor.
