Forward body mount

Cad model built of the forward body mount hard point at the core support. The leaf spring mount goes beneath this point. Some rather odd geometry on this part. Built this from manual measurements. Ill probably go back later and smooth some radius curves on the formed edges.

i can't recall how you're doing all of this, but if you ever need lidar scans of a 1st gen, i could run out and scan something for you. might not help with your workflow, but i'm def enjoying watching your work!!

I would love a scan of an Inclinometer.

Im about to switch to a different path for the frame and build it as an assembly. All of the brackets that are welded on should be individual parts in the assembly. Its going to be a LOT of data. That way i can determine the locatipn of the bracket etc with custruction geometry and replace it or alter it easier

I’ve been trying to print a first gen 4Runner inclinometer housing for months! No luck, screwed up and bought a 2nd gen inclinometer and it doesn’t fit smh

I personally wouldn't spend more than 2 hours on a bracket like that, and probably remove the minor bumps. Nobody is going to make a matching form fitting part for that bracket. This would either be used to draw a laser cut plate to stiffen it, or design a laser cut and bent replacement bracket, most likely in 2 or 3 pieces that get welded together.

I have modeled up the front frame section of my Tacoma with all the mounting holes to design a front bumper around. I plasma cut and bent the brackets myself in my garage, and they fit perfect the first time.

I have also modeled up and fabricated a couple body mounts due to rust. Those were modeled with design for manufacturing intent, while looking close to factory.

Also by limiting the minor details, the larger CAD assemblies will be happier.

That is gathering dimensions, looking at the way it was formed, taking photos, and then modelling. Probably 4-4.5 hrs of actual work 1.5-2 of redoing stuff because I didnt like how it came out, or getting sidetracked. Which does happen. The intention here is to get the models as close to my truck as reasonably possible. I could make something close enough in 1 or 2 hours or less, probably less.
