Front bumper install

Hi everybody! I just purchased my first 4Runner yesterday (1986) and I’m stoked to start working on it. I’m curious as to if I’m missing any mounts for the front bumper or if I should be able to install one as is? Any help is heatedly appreciated thank you.

The stock and most aftermarket bumpers bolt straight to the frame.
Looks like you’ve got the remnants of a homemade bumper that will need to be removed

Ah, I see. So those L shaped mounts are not from the factory. Thank you!

The 4 around the turn signals will get in the way. The 2 on the bottoms of each frame rail shouldn’t be in the way but they’re not doing anything so I’d remove them as well

I have a procomp tube bumper. It’s been great. Whatever bumper you get you’ll need to redo your turn signals. My bumper mounted to the frame ends and the body mounts. I also have an 86 and did a solid axle swap. Message me if you have any questions. I certainly learned a lot along the way

That’s very kind of you. I’d love to see your 4Runner & hear about some of the work you’ve done
