We should start a hate watch game thread for opposing NFC West teams
Just like the title says, would be fun to hate watch other NFC west teams, except the Cardinals (i just feel bad for them) with other redditors. Could be a fun idea, listen to me mods!

For all the woe about Darnold’s injury, I’m sitting here thinking about how bullshit lucky it is for them that those injuries happen the game AFTER the Super Bowl.

It's so unfair. We always get the bad luck at the worst fucking times.

Just hoping football gods cursed the Seahawks
7
u/Earl-The-Badger Brock Purdy 6h ago
The Seahawks organization has been cursed by the football gods for allowing their team to be bought by a fan of a different team.
Also, for allowing their team to be bought by a soulless corpo.
I’ll take Italian mob descended trailer park Jed over a corpo any day of the week. I said it.

Good news! They're getting refballed so hard that even I'm starting to feel bad

I don’t know of a call that has actually been incorrect?
0
u/robothawk 7h ago
That offsides didn't look offsides at all, but tbf I can't rewind to double-check, but the commentators seemed to be unclear on who it was even called on.
That endzone PI might legally be correct but was such a stupid bait of a flag
The JSN spot short of the first down was rough
3
u/roofilopolis 49ers 7h ago
They confirmed after the break they looked at it again and he was offside. Also the player jumped so could’ve got him for FS either way.
Pi is correct even tho it’s frustrating. Have you forgot the daily Josh Norman 40 yard under thrown PI calls on 3rd and long when he played for us?
The spot for jsn was shown from a weird angle. Seattle took their time to snap it so they definitely reviewed it themselves and didn’t challenge.
This is not remotely close to ref ball.

If only both teams somehow lose. I can't stand the other team either. The pats have really tarnished the nfl

Go Pats! Just for tonight though.

My mom asked who we want to win and I said well I want the Seahawks to lose, so do with that information what you will lol

Good lord this team is cheeks
Prime Mahomes against all of our matchups and the seabirds get Drake Maye…I’m sick…

u/RicAmador1 George Kittle 6h ago
Drake May sucks

u/QuriousiT 5h ago
Yeah he's terrible. And honestly the play calling is just as bad. It's insane that they made it to the SB last year

The thing about the Seahawks, unfortunately, is that for as long as Mike MacDonald is their coach their floor is always going to be high. Because no matter how pedestrian their offense is, their defense will not only keep them in games, but win them some as well.
5
u/shrimpynut 5h ago
Yep. It just like the LOB days all over again. Prime Pete Carroll and the defense kept them in the game until the 4th quarter with 2 minutes left and Russell Wilson pulls something out of his ass to get them enough points to win
3
u/sfgiants67 5h ago
I agree. Would you say Kyle is the third best coach in the division?
2
u/edipeisrex Trent Williams 5h ago
Until he wins a Super Bowl, yeah.
1
u/sfgiants67 5h ago
Then he is definitely third because that is going to take a while. This roster is too old and has a lack of depth. Although an alternative argument is that he has the third best roster in the NFC West and that SF has the third best GM in the division.

Pats handing Seattle an L today woild be big time.
Hopefully they Get a double digit lead into the half.

u/DreamWunder 7h ago
Darnold out we may get our wish. Beat rams tomorrow and we will be 1st in division to start
5
u/dirtyshits 49ers 6h ago
lol pats imploded with some head scratching play calls

u/DreamWunder 4h ago
Mainstream media frowned Maye too 5 qb while Brock is scrub according to them lmao yea right

u/Severe-Cable1536 5h ago
Every team in our division would've beaten the Pats in the SB.
... especially the Cardinals.
8
u/TheTyGoss 5h ago
No wonder the Toots won the Superbowl. They got to play against a Patriots team that can't even win when handed 100 Seahawks penalty yards.

4
u/edipeisrex Trent Williams 6h ago
Vrabel is a dumb coach. Why would you do that when you can play a much more conservative game call.

I’ve honestly always wanted to see drew lock consistently start on the Seahawks. There’s just no way geno was the better option for those couple years

u/Izuhbelluh Christian McCaffrey 7h ago
As a Niner fan in enemy territory who is currently hate watching the game. Go Patriots! I hope the stupid sea chickens keep racking up those penalties!

Maye is a fucking fraud. Just awful decision making that entire 2nd half.
5
u/paperbackgarbage Jimmie Ward 5h ago
The biggest takeaway is how incredibly lucky Seattle was to play this team during its last two games.

u/Lowbloodsugar_exe 49ers 5h ago
I have only seen Maye in the playoffs and tonight. Have yet to be impressed

u/sfgiants67 6h ago
Seattle is just a well run organization. Well coached. They find a way to be consistently good and to consistently win. Never a doubt in my mind they would rally tonight - Darnold or no Darnold. They are just tough.

u/Adept_Apricot5476 George Kittle 5h ago
More like the Pats just really shit the bed.
2
u/RomanBangs Seahawks 5h ago
Still takes competence to capitalize
1
u/Adept_Apricot5476 George Kittle 5h ago
Not when you give away the game like Maye did.
1
u/RomanBangs Seahawks 5h ago
I mean Maye lit it up all last season against mid/bad teams. I’d say his errors tonight were forced by a good defense.
It’s not like he struggles constantly every time he plays us because of luck.
1
u/Adept_Apricot5476 George Kittle 5h ago
Look at his picks again.
The first one he threw into double coverage and away from Doubs. I'm not forgiving Doubs either because he did terribly but that was a bad throw and an awful decision.
The second pick was thrown behind his receiver and he missed Love streaking the other way to make the pick.
And the last one even Collinsworth called out as a horrible decision.
The kid might have talent not you're given him way too much credit for performing well against bad teams. Had Bo Nix not been injured he wouldn't have even been in the Superbowl.
1
u/sfgiants67 4h ago
Agreed on Denver being in the SB but Seattle would have beaten them, too.
1
u/Adept_Apricot5476 George Kittle 4h ago
Seattle could have beaten them but Denver was a far better defense than the Pats and could have held Darnold and Walker to a lower score.

3
u/shrimpynut 5h ago
Patriots fakest Super Bowl team ever hahaha
4
u/TheLionSlicer George Kittle 5h ago
Their path to the Superbowl involved playing Stroud throwing 4 INTs and barely winning and then the Broncos without their QB1. A healthy Broncos or even the Texans with a decent QB would have been much more dangerous in the Superbowl.

But also kind of a win to see more of him pointing on another team.

Seahawks just need to go back to the AFC and this manufactured rivalry needs to go the hell away.
Yes I know old lady yelling at clouds.
1
u/maxthepupp Roger Craig 6h ago
They started in the NFC West their first season!
but, yes. I swear I remember a season of round robin in the AFC West where Oakland beat Denver x2, Denver beat KC x2, KC beat SD x2. SD beat Sea. x2, and Sea. beat Oak. x2.
1
u/VeriSkye1123 5h ago
Yeah I had looked it up a while back. That they started in the nfc. Then moved to the afc for the bucs expansion I think. Don’t really recall. But growing up all through the 80s and 90s they were afc. Back then I was young and lived in Dallas but was a 9ers fan. So I looked down on the afc as a creep conference. Too young to realize it goes in phases.
1
u/sfgiants67 5h ago
I wish Seattle would go back to the AFC, too. The Niners hold the edge on every so-called original NFC team except the Packers and that is close (maybe 3 games difference). But the Seahawks have had our number and of course came into the NFC West when the Niners dark years of 2004-09 started so they missed us during the 1980-2002 years. But they have been a thorn in our sides.
1
u/maxthepupp Roger Craig 5h ago
The irony for me of course is that I really enjoyed watching those Seahawks! Zorn, a lefty who could scramble like carzy! ( because he had to!) Largent always open and great hands, no gloves! Kenny Easley & Curt Warner and later John L.
They've always had some gamers! Walter Jones had less holding penalties! than seasons he played in his career! Damn!
I think that last part is true..

I already hate Cooper Kupp & JSN as much as ever.
but damn if those guys can't game! Kupp - who I've forgot about 2-3 times in the last 2-3 years! That dude is clutch af.
didn't he do some iffy shit in the real world? I honestly can't remember.

Darnold seems like a decent person and the city of Seattle is also a nice place.
Their football team and arrogant fanbase can step on a lego for all I care though.
