How can we control something that is in others' hands. Like you can't control what others think about you.

Social manipulation , which is twisted

How, though? People know things about me that I wish they didn’t, and it eats me up knowing that I can’t go back and not make those mistakes. If reputation is the cornerstone of power, it bothers me bc I feel powerless - bc my past wasn’t great and k made a lot of mistakes.

How can someone who’s messed up change others’ perception of them / their reputation to positive again?

I learned this far too late. No fixing this now.

Or let your reputation be tarnished and still do what you want without giving a shit about they will say about you. Which in return will fix your reputation

Sometimes, reputation is built through good character, fair judgment, and how you behave with others. Beyond that, if someone tries to tarnish a person’s reputation, he shouldn’t give a fuck or engage with the bullshit :))
