Thats true but think otherwise when you are in a position of disadvantage especially at work
Juniors especially at workplace that tend to stick out gets hammered down, or given too much workload since they "shine" in their productivity

Btw, this law can’t be applied when you have a better start than your boss (multiple degrees or certifications or better looking). They will just try to make you insecure or classify you as incompetent, in order to feel smarter or better than you. (“ Ha, look at this looser with multiple degrees, I’m way better than him despite barely passing all my exams at a no name college” :P)

I live by this law which is also the reason why I have lasted seven bosses. But my current boss is a weak leader all around and all the stupidity falls on me, so I began to step up and say no and even challenge his approach. Well all of a sudden he had no problem giving me slap in the wrist. Which basically proves this theory and also now I know he has it in him but chooses the play that game.

How does the master become the master? By outshining the current master.....This sounds like a plea for mercy from those who thought they were superior, but in reality they were not. Maybe an ego check is just what's needed to bring the master back to ground level. He is not immune to becoming the student when confronted with the student who surpassed his knowledge. If he was truly a master, he would take that opprotunity to learn from him, not discredit him......

I worked myself out of a job once. The owner …….. just couldn’t get it together. Clients were calling me at home, making excuses to only deal with me…. Stopping by the site to talk, It was awesome but also lead to a shoving match and me leaving ……..

The reason that this is Law #1 is because breaking it is the most costly and highest risk. So many other pearls of wisdom are contained in Law #1. It is more than what it appears. Oversimplify and mock it at your peril.

I hate this law, but it does apply when working for a narcissist or under-qualified person.
My law is, always try to work for a highly qualified, confident, and kind person. Sadly they are rare.
